The Foundation for the Development of Caribbean Children (FDCC) launched its new state-of the-art website (www.fdcchildren.org) and attractive Facebook and Twitter platforms on October 13th, 2011, at the Palm Haven Hotel, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.<\/p>\n
Recognising the ever-increasing role of technology in communication, the FDCC has embraced the internet and social media as strong channels through which our various public can be engaged.<\/p>\n
The FDCC is the first indigenous private foundation devoted to promoting early childhood development throughout the region.<\/p>\n
Our mission is to significantly increase the number of disadvantaged children who acquire the knowledge and skills to prepare them for entry into primary school and lifelong learning by accessing quality early childhood development services.<\/p>\n
The website was revealed for the first time at the Family Literacy and Learning Symposium being held in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia on October 13th and 14th.\u00a0 The launch proved to be an exciting experience for both those present at the Symposium, as well as those who participated online through Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n
The FDCC will be embarking on a massive online marketing campaign through email, Facebook and Twitter, in order to drive more online users to the website.<\/p>\n
FDCC stakeholders, special invited guests, the media and attendees at the symposium were treated to a live talk\/click through and exposed to the various features of the innovative website.<\/p>\n
The FDCC\u2019s website provides up to the minute information on the Foundation\u2019s initiatives and activities, testimonials from those who have benefited most from our programmes, useful resources for parents and children as well as research and publications that support our work. The colorful interface and simple design will keep visitors coming back and undoubtedly referring others.<\/p>\n
