Day Three of the 15th Annual World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) was a truly electrifying experience all the way from Tasha P and Swinging Stars in the late afternoon to Triple K Global in the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Swinging stars surprised patrons when they came on to LMFAO\u2019s \u2018Party Rock Anthem\u2019 and the energy from that launched the show into a unique region of brilliance, highlighted by the bands\u2019 classic hits, and while the some members of the band expressed a bit of disappointment at their position in the lineup, they still delivered a stellar performance.<\/p>\n

Lead singer Chester \u2018Daddy Chess\u2019 Letang said, \u201cThe crowd was good. We were a little concerned about performing so early, but the people came out in large numbers [because] Dominicans love their bands, we are patriotic people and we saw people out there with their flags. The turnout was good and I was happy that the people came out to support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next up was Gyptian and the Jamaican Reggae\/Dancehall star evoked mixed to positive reactions from the crowd. He had never performed at the festival before and fans were not sure what to expect, but his high-octane act only really seemed to disappoint when he brought out a surprise unknown artist, who then proceeded to attempt to serenade the crowd for 10 minutes with hits from other artists. Even then, as well as when Gyptian began singing again, the crowd sang along.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody enjoyed themselves. Event Gyptian on stage was a fan of the Dominican crowd because its an overwhelming feeling and a big festival and for me to be a part of it is good. I would always like to come back here and perform,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Soca power couple Bunji Garlin and Fay-ann Lyons was the true gems of the festival perhaps delivering the best performance and certainly one of the most charged performances.\u00a0 This was also their first time at the festival and the two are keen to return at the soonest for another engagement with Dominican fans.<\/p>\n

Garlin remarked, \u201cI, personally, would really be hoping to come back. We were aware of it, we always heard of it because we do music festivals all around the world. But we\u2019ve always heard of [WCMF] and we know it\u2019s like a rotation. Most times it\u2019s not the same bands from this period going into the next. So it\u2019s not to say that we were looking on and hoping. We were just making sure that if the call came, we were ready to bring something to the people because we love to go to different places and share cultures, exchange cultures and we love what we do. This is our duty; to share what we know and to absorb something that the people know and get that cultural exchange.\u201d<\/p>\n

And just when the fans thought it could not get any better, Triple K Global took them on a trip around the world and back, playing songs from a number of genres including Hiphop\/R&B, Soca, Dancehall, Latin, European genres and\u00a0 their patented version of Dominica\u2019s Bouyon music.<\/p>\n
