The company has been supporting the Home for approximately 10 years now.<\/p>\n<p>At a ceremony held on Wednesday December 21, a cheque of $1,300 was presented to the Home. In attendance were directors, manager, staff nurse, residents and representatives of FDIC Portsmouth Branch Office. Mrs. Heather Baron Fan Fan, Branch Manager reiterated the company\u2019s corporate responsibility to the community of Portmouth.<\/p>\n<p>She quoted an Albanian proverb, \u201cIf you give nothing, expect nothing\u201d to bring home the point that what we do when we are young will reflect on how we will be treated when we get older. Indeed our senior citizens have given us much to be proud of; we therefore embrace the opportunity to reciprocate with a heart of endless gratitude. They were encouraged to enjoy their time here and be of good cheer since there are many who may never reach this golden milestone.<\/p>\n<p>The residents were extremely vocal is expressing their appreciation and entertained those present with a few Christmas carols.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The First Domestic Insurance Company Limited, Dominica\u2019s first and only local general insurance company has continued in its tradition of bringing Christmas cheer to the residents of the Northern District Home for The Aged.
