{"id":5287,"date":"2010-03-02T11:15:46","date_gmt":"2010-03-02T17:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/?p=5287"},"modified":"2010-03-02T11:15:46","modified_gmt":"2010-03-02T17:15:46","slug":"dss-donates-to-roving-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/news\/general\/dss-donates-to-roving-care\/","title":{"rendered":"DSS donates to Roving Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>PRESS RELEASE: <\/strong><\/em>The Dominica Social Security has made a financial contribution to the Roving Caregivers Programme (RCP) in early February 2010 as part of activities to mark its 34th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>(RCP) through its implementing agency ChildFund Caribbean therefore extends sincere gratitude to Social Security for this very generous donation.<\/p>\n<p>This financial contribution to RCP is in keeping with the Social Security\u2019s objective in assisting civil society organizations to enhance their programmes as well as being true to their responsibility as a corporate institution\/partner in community \/national development.<\/p>\n<p>The Roving Caregivers Programme is an informal early childhood education programme that seeks to reach children birth to three years of age who do not have access to any formal early childhood education. Early stimulation, parenting education and support for parents form the core of the programme.<\/p>\n<p>This timely contribution from Social Security will enable the RCP in its mission at strengthening the care and protective environment for young children as well as enhancing parenting skills in these RCP communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Roving Caregivers Programme is exclusively maintained by Grant Funding mainly through the Bernard Van leer Foundation, Government of Dominica, UNICEF, The National Bank of Dominica, with other contributions from Gifts of Love &amp; Hope, Ross University, Optical Services and Rotary Club among others.<\/p>\n<p>The RCP is indeed very grateful to be a recipient of this financial contribution from the Dominica Social Security and looks forward to a long and fruitful relationship between the two organizations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PRESS RELEASE: The Dominica Social Security has made a financial contribution to the Roving Caregivers Programme (RCP) in early February 2010 as part of activities to mark its 34th anniversary.
