Volunteers during the event<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Southern District Sports Committee, in collaboration with the newly formed Grand Bay Sports Committee headed by Nora Francis, on Saturday held a successful \u201cVolunteer Day\u201d at the Geneva Playing Field.<\/p>\n

Over twenty five persons including Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Justina Charles turned out to give the Geneva Playing Field a general face lift, which have brought a visible change to the playing area.<\/p>\n

At a recently held retreat of the District Sports Committee it was agreed that a feature on its yearly calendar would be a quarterly \u201cVolunteer Day\u201d in one of the seven communities in the District.\u00a0 Completion of the Geneva project will be on February 4 and the next project is expected to be in the Bagatelle community.<\/p>\n

In other news, the Justina Charles Southern District Football League on Sunday, Canefield Strikers won Petite Savanne 2 goals to 0.\u00a0 Teston Pacquette and Henson Henderson scored one goal each.<\/p>\n

In the second match, Nora Francis Young Gunners defeated Delices 4 goals to 1.
