Thirsty, oh so thirsty, but my tears are seared by the sun\u2019s rays<\/p>\n

As they slowly trickle to the ocean. \u00a0Don\u2019t my children care?<\/p>\n

My body slowly sacrificed by greed and oh so few pay<\/p>\n

Attention to my pain. I don\u2019t know how much more I can bear.<\/p>\n

I feel the marks of slavery, injustice and prejudice on my bare back,<\/p>\n

As my children rape, fight, kills, scam and mock each other,<\/p>\n

Then hail themselves a victor on my naked body. A lack<\/p>\n

Of respect for friendship, or mankind, or goals, or values, and no one bothers<\/p>\n

To protect me, or comfort my exposed soul. \u00a0Oh my dear offspring,<\/p>\n

I love you much, and have cradled and fed you from birth,<\/p>\n

But love for me is scant from my very own.\u00a0 I can\u2019t sing<\/p>\n

And produce healthy fruits if you abuse this earth.<\/p>\n

Look around you; hear my cry. These days, my tears of joy are few.<\/p>\n

What other signs do you need before your cruelty cease?<\/p>\n

Do you not remember the raging storms and how the tempest blew?<\/p>\n

My surface trembled as the plates shook, but still I your family feed.<\/p>\n

My innocence is being torn from me every day.\u00a0 No, longer can I say<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t house a serial killer, or my prisons are not filled.<\/p>\n

No longer can I boast that the \u201cthugs of life\u201d I have delayed<\/p>\n

From my shores.\u00a0 But how much more can I stomach \u2018till my breath be still?<\/p>\n
