Dear Editor,<\/p>\n
I would like to share the following with your reading public:<\/p>\n
Charles Maynard was not just the Parl Rep for the Soufriere Constituency, but a Legend.<\/p>\n
I was very fortunate to be Maynard’s Campaign manager in the 1995 general elections in Dominica.<\/p>\n
Maynard delivered to the people of the Soufriere Constituency in\u00a0 many different ways and in every ministry he held with the Dominica freedom Party.<\/p>\n
When Maynard was minister for Health he delivered Health Centers in Pointe Michel, Soufriere, and Scott’s Head.<\/p>\n
When he was Minister for Agriculture he delivered\u00a0 significantly help to the farmers in the Soufriere Constituency including an Aloe growing and harvesting business in the Bois Cut Let area.<\/p>\n
Maynard also encouraged the local farmers in the area to take farming as a profession and not fun. He also started the School feeding programme for the Scott’s Head Primary School and many other schools on the island.<\/p>\n
When he was Minister for Tourism he did so many things in\u00a0 his Constituency including Kone-Konla, put Gallion on the national map, the Encore Project in Soufriere\u00a0 which still bring a significant amount of business in the area and not forgetting the Service of American Eagle to Dominica.<\/p>\n
Maynard helped a lot of people personally from his salary including scholarships,\u00a0 pay rent for poor residents and Christmas presents for the least fortunate in the Constituency.<\/p>\n
Personally I must say Maynard was a great part of my success.<\/p>\n
He was the one who encouraged me to take a job aboard Royal Caribbean cruise line ‘Song of America’ after the UWP form the Government in 1995. Today, I’m a very successful leader wherever I go.<\/p>\n
It’s because of Maynard advise I achieved most of my experiences and successes.<\/p>\n
And yes, Maynard, I will try do the thing you believe I will be good at which is to represent the People of the Soufriere Constituency in Parliament at the highest honesty and integrity level one day.<\/p>\n
On behalf of the Soufriere Constituency, my wife Marianne and kids Maydine, Jeff and Jacques I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and family.<\/p>\n
