Princeton George<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

One of the men charged with the March 9 robbery of the Marigot Credit Union has once again been denied bail.<\/p>\n

Princeton George has been on remand at the state prison, and appeared before Magistrate Ossie Lewis on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

George\u2019s lawyer, Wayne Norde, alleged that his client was being punished before being tried, and reminded the court that the defendant\u2019s offence was a bailable one.<\/p>\n

The magistrate however denied his plea\u00a0 on the grounds that neither the money stolen or the ammunition used during the execution of the offence had been recovered by the police.<\/p>\n

He also reminded Norde that the defendant was being kept on remand to ensure the security of the populace.<\/p>\n

George is being tried along with three other suspects: Jamie Andrew, Michel Azille and Mitchel Joseph.<\/p>\n

The trial is set to begin on 13 June, (2012) at Marigot.<\/p>\n

Desmond Phillip<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Also denied bail on Tuesday, was Desmond Phillip, who was arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Leon \u201cDopie\u201d Joseph and Deon Hakim Alfred.<\/p>\n

The 57 year old pensioner appeared before Magistrate Ossie Lewis.<\/p>\n

He told the magistrate \u201cI am being held in prison innocently I do not know anything about those boys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phillip made the comment after being told that bail was closed to him.<\/p>\n

Police inspector Michael Laudat told the court that releasing the accused may pervert the course of justice, since the whereabouts of the victims were still unknown.<\/p>\n

The alleged kidnapping took place on March 10 (2012).<\/p>\n

Four other individuals have already been charged with \u201cunlawfully and forcefully kidnapping\u201d the two.<\/p>\n
