The hangar after the fire<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Regional airline LIAT has confirmed that the recent fire at its hangar at the VC Bird International Airport in Antigua caused millions of dollars in damage.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on currently available information, LIAT estimates that insured losses from the June 10, 2012 fire at its hangar \u2026 will be approximately EC$35-million,\u201d the company said in a just released statement.<\/p>\n

According to the release, LIAT continues to maintain normal operations throughout its network.<\/p>\n

Two office blocks, an aircraft hangar and an aircraft were gutted by the massive fire that swept through LIAT\u2019s section of the VC Bird International Airport on Sunday (June 10) night.<\/p>\n

According to a series of advisories issued by the company, the large fire started around 10:15 pm Sunday, and was only brought under control about 12 hours later.<\/p>\n
