Seeing our dream become reality is very fulfilling, and receiving international recognition for our environmental and community achievements makes us very proud,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In justifying the recognition afforded the Dominican resort, Green Globe Certification\u2019s CEO, Guido Bauer, said, \u201cEverybody at the resort considers the environment\u00a0 in everyday decisions and little details \u2013 from installing LED lights and using chairs made from recycled materials to providing sustainably produced cotton towels and UV filtered natural spring water\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmployees, clients, customers and the community are educated about environmental issues and sustainable work practices as well as encouraged to adopt green practices themselves,\u201d Bauer observed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the resort\u2019s owners,\u00a0 97 percent of its staff members are local Dominicans.<\/p>\n<p>They are said to have been employed during construction of the property and received professional training to become resort staff members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the resort\u2019s furniture, artwork and buildings were created and built by local artists and artisans, and the gift shop in the hotel features local artwork and crafts as well,\u201d according to a release from the eco-luxury and wellness retreat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Eco-luxury and wellness retreat, Rosalie Bay Resort, says its environmental efforts have been recognized through certification by Green Globe.
