The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is currently engaged in the process of implementing a project entitled \u201cthe establishment of a National Parks Service\u201d for Dominica.<\/p>\n
Director of Forestry Division Ronald Charles said the main objective of the project is to prepare for the complete dislocation of the current National Parks Unit from the Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division so that by the end of the project what is currently a National Parks Unit within the Forestry Division, will become a fully operational National Parks Service, complete with a full complement of staff, supporting legislation and other resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe project is divided into two phases. The first phase involves setting up of the legislative framework and the second involves the institutionalization of the parks service. In order for all this to become a reality certain protocol and processes must be adhered to,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
