\"\"Tropical Depression Nine has become Tropical Storm Isaac and is located east of Dominica.<\/p>\n

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the island.<\/p>\n

A Tropical Storm Warning means that Tropical Storm conditions are EXPECTED somewhere within the Warning area, in this case within 24 hours.<\/p>\n

At 5 pm, the center of Tropical Storm Isaac was located near Latitude 15.4 North, Longitude 53.9 West or about 495 miles east of Dominica.<\/p>\n

Isaac is moving toward the west near 17 mph and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.<\/p>\n

On the forecast track, the center of ISAAC should move through the central Lesser Antilles Wednesday evening and emerge over the Eastern Caribbean Sea by Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

Reports from an Air Force Hurricane Hunter Aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.<\/p>\n

The expected conditions are winds up to Tropical Storm force by Wednesday afternoon in Dominica with rainfall amounts of 4 \u2013 8 inches and rough seas.<\/p>\n

Residents are asked to monitor the movement of Isaac closely and make all final arrangements. We<\/p>\n

Authorities continue to warn against being close to areas prone to landslides and flash flooding. Residents along the coastline should also be mindful of possible high sea swells.<\/p>\n
