Minister of Education Petter St Jean<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Ministry of Education has said that the problem of anti-social behavior and homosexuality in Dominica\u2019s schools is much bigger than government imagined.<\/p>\n

Education Minister Petter St Jean said because of this, government was forced to broaden its task force to deal with the matter.<\/p>\n

Government announced several months ago, that educator Simeon Joseph had been given the responsibility “of investigating and identifying the root causes of deviance and the increasing incidents of homosexuality among our student population\u201d.<\/p>\n

However St Jean revealed this week that because deviance, misbehavior and homosexuality among the island’s students is a bigger problem than was imagined, two other individuals have been brought on board to assist Joseph.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimeon Joseph has been engaged as the point persons but the problem is much bigger than we first thought. Consequently, I had given instructions that we should look at bringing in two other individuals to work along with him,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to St. Jean the committee will put strategies in place to arrest deviant behaviors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee will be mandated to put structures in place to address the problems as they surface and also to mitigate the spreading of crime, violence, homosexuality and deviant behaviors in school\u201d, he said<\/p>\n
