{"id":7655,"date":"2010-04-13T07:43:19","date_gmt":"2010-04-13T13:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/?p=7655"},"modified":"2010-04-13T14:02:23","modified_gmt":"2010-04-13T20:02:23","slug":"i-will-kill-you-court-hears-son-tells-mother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/news\/crime-court-law\/i-will-kill-you-court-hears-son-tells-mother\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I will kill you&#8221; &#8211; court hears son tells mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/Death-Threat1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7679\" title=\"Death-Threat1\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/Death-Threat1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"149\" \/><\/a>Glenroy Joseph of Canefield, who was initially ordered by the court not to interfere with his mother, found himself answering to charges again when he threatened to kill her.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph pleaded not guilty to threatening his mother, when he appeared at Magistrates&#8217; Court on Monday; however pleaded guilty to entering her residence at Canefield last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>According to the charges, Joseph told his mother, Olivia Phillip, \u201cIf you call the police I will kill you!\u201d and then went into her home without her permission about midday.<\/p>\n<p>The protection order which has been effective since May 2008 stated that Joseph was to stay away from the complainant and her premises.<\/p>\n<p>According to the facts of the case presented by the Police Prosecutor Inspector Claude Weekes, the protection order against Phillip&#8217;s son has several conditions.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday April 10, 2010, the complainant was inside her house when she heard the defendant speaking outside angrily.\u00a0 He refused to leave when she asked him to and began using offensive language and threatening her. Subsequently, she called the police.<\/p>\n<p>Upon meeting the defendant, police officers noticed that he was drunk. The facts stated that Joseph had a strong scent of alcohol and a small bottle of Red Cap rum in his pocket. When questioned about his mother&#8217;s report, he told police, \u201cThat is not true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked to mitigate on his behalf, the defendant kept on saying, \u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joseph was sentenced to three months for unlawfully entering Phillip&#8217;s premises.<\/p>\n<p>The trial for the matter of threats was adjourned to a later date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8211; Hermisha Rolle, Staff reporter<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Glenroy Joseph of Canefield, who was initially ordered by the court not to interfere with his mother, found himself answering to charges again when he threatened to kill her.
