\"\"Editor’s note: This poem was written in observance of \u00a0International Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) Day on October 20.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Up above the airport\u2019s floor
\nThere\u2019s a tower majestically stands
\nNot with kings and queens nor princes or dukes,
\nBut with men and women making shrewd decisions
\nEnveloped by navigational gadgets assuming their favorite position;
\nMimicking commanders of a space ship
\nAs they give Commanding instructions.<\/p>\n

Safety is used as an armored guard
\nAs they stand alert
\nEnforcing rules and regulations that they have learnt Beforehand.
\nThey must articulate clearly their governed imposed
\nPhraseologies to forefend wings from tipping
\nAnd noses from Kissing
\nFor it could be detrimental and self-inflicting.<\/p>\n

Yes it is a serious job!
\nSerious as serious can be.
\nAir Traffic Managers hold a critical position
\nNot a position Of fear but one of awareness.
\nSafety is priority
\nAs they crave getting the aircraft
\nIn and out expeditiously.
\nA normal man has a pair of eyes
\nBut an Air Traffic Manger must work with three.<\/p>\n

It can get tense
\nWhen the traffic is dense
\nTheir assistant must be alert and assertive
\nFor the situation must be choreographed for every sequence.
\nIt is fun
\nFor them every day
\nEspecially when challenges appear and submit in dismay.
\nConversing with pilots professionally,
\nlisten to what they have to say,
\nAdhering and cheering to the good things they have done.
\nThey do not know each other most of the time
\nBut out of respect and pride
\nThey have tremendous reverence
\nSo next time you see an Air Traffic Manager say hello or hi because the
\nNext time you travel he or she might be the one working ensuring
\nYou get from point A to point B
