Just got shot and killed
\nThey told me I’m heading to heaven
\nBut why did this happen to me?
\nI’m only seven
\nBarely seen much since kindergarten
\nI’m supposed to be in school
\nLearning Science and History
\nNow I’m the one who’s history
\nI hope though that my death doesn’t cause too much misery
\nBut is instead a lesson
\nAnd the reason that the world changes direction
\nWhy the need for guns?
\nOne minute I’m laughing with my friends
\nThe next my life has come to an end
\nI didn’t even get a chance to say a prayer
\nBecause the Lord wasn’t welcomed here
\nNot within the walls of my school
\nBut now everyone’s praying to the Lord to comfort the my family
\nSomething’s wrong with this picture, seriously!
\nHow do they expect me to rest in peace?
\nWhen the last thing I heard was gun shots and screams
\nHeld my best friends hand as our lives ended in misery
\nAnd the saddest thing is the reason for our death will always remain a mystery
\nOur souls went into evanescence
\nWhile our bodies just laid there lifeless
\nSo many gun shots wounds to our heads and chests
\nCan we even have an open casket?
\nOur right to live was taken from us
\nAll our dreams crushed until they turned to dust
\nAnd soon all memories of us will be like scrap metal in a landfill
\nJust waiting to rust
\nYes, we\u2019ll rest but we\u2019ll never be at peace
\nWe\u2019ll sit with the master and with angels up high
\nAnd look down and say, Lord why do they keep missing the signs?
\nIt\u2019s so clear to see, so easy to read
\nWhy don\u2019t they take heed?
\nIt\u2019s time to take a stand!
\nFight for those who don\u2019t have the chance
\nThe little boys and girls just like me
\nWho are prey to the situations just like these,
\nWho are just happy to go through life every day,
\nNot worried about the guns while they play.
\nChildhood should be a period free from strife
\nNot afraid or clinging on for dear life
\nI pray for my family and all the other families
\nThat they, while on earth, will find peace
\nAnd they do justice to our memory
\nPlease, just take away all the havoc and mischief
\nLet God sit in you all hearts
\nAnd stop asking why?
\nWhat happened to us was just a reminder
\nThat this world is sick, in need of a cure
\nAnd God didn\u2019t make it our home forever
\nAnd one day this, yes this will all be over
\nWith hearts that a pure
\nHe\u2019ll take us to our true home over yonder
\nBut for now, stop sit and wonder
\nAnd start act to bring us justice
\nThe guns, the violence \u2013 we\u2019ve got to stop this
\nWe can\u2019t have another Newtown
\nWe can\u2019t have another shootout
\nWe got to change our route
\nAnd as a people just accept the truth
\nThat guns in the hand of any and everybody
\nIs a recipe to kill anybody
\nEven the little children, the innocent boys and girls
