{"id":82655,"date":"2012-12-31T15:16:54","date_gmt":"2012-12-31T19:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=82655"},"modified":"2012-12-31T15:49:33","modified_gmt":"2012-12-31T19:49:33","slug":"stardom-tent-to-have-new-format","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/news\/entertainment\/stardom-tent-to-have-new-format\/","title":{"rendered":"Stardom Tent to have new format"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_82656\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82656\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-82656\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/stardom-tent-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/stardom-tent-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/stardom-tent-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/stardom-tent.jpg 642w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-82656\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Patrons at the 2012 Stardom Tent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Stardom Tent will be taking on a new format in 2013, treasurer of the tent, Arthur &#8220;Bassie&#8221; Pascal, has revealed.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pascal all calypsonians will not be performing on the same night, as it was done in the past. &#8220;Usually all Stardom calypsonians sing on the same night but we\u2019re going to break it down into about 15 calypsonians per night since we have a lot of new calypsonians, plus the more experienced ones,\u201d he told Dominica News Online.<\/p>\n<p>The tent will be launched on Thursday January 3, 2013 at Calypso House and will begin the following Saturday at the Sisserou Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Pascal pointed out that the calypsoes for the 2013 tent are very impressive and patrons should expect a good show.<\/p>\n<p>He also indicated that sponsorship for the show has been secured.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, \u00a0one of the organizers of Showdown Mas Camp, Daryl Bobb, has said that a change in the venue for the 2013 tent is the biggest challenge being faced.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bobb, the location of the show was moved from the Harlem Plaza to the Public Service Union (PSU) grounds since sponsors said they were not getting value for money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are trying to turn the location into a carnival village, a proper entertainment venue complete with a VIP booth and a covering for the comfort of our patrons in case of inclement weather,&#8221; he told DNO.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the number of performers will be consistent with other years and the show&#8217;s main focus is to give value to sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Bobb also noted that patrons should look out for a few new calypsonians at the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe at Showdown Mas Camp see the importance of giving the young calypsonians a chance to show their talent.
