\"\"Webster Edmund of Layou will know his fate when he returns to court on March 1 for sentencing in a matter involving a minor.<\/p>\n

His trial opened in Roseau on Monday.<\/p>\n

He faced charges of possession of firearm to endanger life, kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition, possession of marijuana and possession of the said drug with intent to supply, unlawful sexual connection, abduction and indecent assault.<\/p>\n

Court documents indicate that Edmund allegedly kidnapped the 15-year-old school girl and held her for 40 days in the heights of Layou. He was found by police in the Hillsborough Estate area. The police reported that he led them to the young girl.<\/p>\n

Edmund had initially pleaded not guilty to all the charges but after cross examination he, through his lawyer Peter Alleyne, pleaded guilty to kidnapping, unlawful sexual connection, possession of ammunition and possession of firearm with intent to endanger life but not guilty of abduction and indecent assault.<\/p>\n

Director of Public Prosecution, Gene Pestaina, eventually withdrew the two charges to which he did not plead guilty.<\/p>\n
