A group of business men and women from the neighboring French island of Martinique will over the next two days explore both the business and pleasure resources on the island.<\/p>\n

The group arrived in Dominica on Wednesday afternoon and is being hosted by the Roseau City Council.<\/p>\n

In an interview with DNO after a welcome reception Mayor of Roseau, Cecil Joseph, said the whole idea is to give the visitors an idea of what Dominica is really like and to give them the opportunity to explore the possibilities of doing business here.<\/p>\n

He spoke about his visit to the French island a few weeks ago where he was able to rouse interest in Dominica among the business community there.<\/p>\n

“They took the opportunity to take two days from their busy schedule some of them, to see what Dominica is really like since for some of them, its their first time,” Joseph said.<\/p>\n

Mayor Joseph said some of the areas that the group may be interested in are botany, sport and hopefully sponsorship for the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).<\/p>\n

“There is a gentleman who is a Director\/owner of the biggest mall in Martinique and Guadelope, Hyper-U, and they are here to see what they can do,” the mayor said. “I am planning to bring them to the Events Coordinator for the DFC, Nathalie Clarke Meade ,to see how we can discuss some kind of sponsorship for the WCMF.”<\/p>\n

He said the group will be taken to various areas around the island so members can explore the possibilities of doing business.<\/p>\n

During the two days, the team will visit areas of interest including the Carib Territory where they will experience first hand the way of life of the indigenious people, the Roseau valley, Screws Spa and Soufriere.<\/p>\n
