\"court\"Vernelle Lefleur, a 26-year-old mother of two from Pointe Michel who pleaded guilty to wounding her father, will know her fate on April 18, 2013 when she appears in court for sentencing.<\/p>\n

She pleaded guilty to a charge of wounding in a court appearance.<\/p>\n

Court documents reveal that about 1:00 pm on April 12, 2013, Lefleur left one of her two children in the care of her father, Veron Lafleur, and went to do some laundry at her cousin’s home.<\/p>\n

When she did not return at a certain time for her child, the father went in search of her. It is reported that on meeting her, the elder Lafleur grabbed his daughter by the throat.<\/p>\n

According to court reports, in retaliation, a displeased Lafleur struck her father with a stone in the head and as a result he had to seek medical attention at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The police were called and the woman was arrested and charged for the offence to which she pleaded guilty.<\/p>\n

Before sentencing Lafleur, Chief Magistrate Evalina Baptiste, asked for the father who did not make a court appearance. \u201cGo get him, I want to hear from him, while I don\u2019t want this matter to go on, I need to hear from him and see how best I can help and talk to both parties since it is a family matter,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
