This photo of the Miracle Lake (Lake Matthieu) located in Layou Valley was taken during a tour with the Pierre Charles Secondary School Adventure Club.
This Adventure Club explores our beautiful Nature Isle and exposes and acquaints students to Dominica’s unlimited beauty.

Am wondering where has all that water ended up..strange stuff…worrying…???Geologist watch that space – i think a bit of investigating is needed…we wouldn’t want a disaster on our Beautiful…
pobrecito! no more miracle lake…. you were just a teenager.. may be it is best because had you matured into an adult lake, there is no telling what could be the extent of damage … bye bye miracle lake…so sorry i didn’t get a chance to see you in person…thought you would have been around forever

1. Who Are You?
You Saying the students uneducated……. lol no wonder u guys have alot of fighting at goodwill all work no play lol i pity you. Wish u cuda been like them eh i see that u were one who probably did not have a nice childhood? How can u say those thing over all i wud say that you are plain and simply put JEALOUS……. Ask your “Educated” Students to look that word up for ya cuz you seem to be suffering from it alot. and it burns you to see others succeed where you fail eh!!!! but With all due respect you should show some to gain some.
SOHCAHTOA!!!!
@ Amanda Scotland : It takes a really educated person to figure out whats you were trying to say, since your sentece structure was very poor. You need to be re-schooled. At PCSS, there are many Clubs and groups; and these, along with the quality education received, it moulds students and develops them fully. You cannot compare a Subject-Related Field Trip with an Adventure Club Trip cause the main goal of the two are different. Nonetheless, the students in the Adventure Club do learn a lot from it. So, please get your facts right, Ms Amanda Scotland, take a look at the Dominica State College and how well the products of PCSS are doing…there are many that are doing much much much better than you Amanda, and that’s a fact!!
@amanda scotland: i am very disappointed in your comments. To make such a comment you do not seem to be one of the smart one’s in the group….anyways to stop yall from being JEALOUS..next time you go on an “educational” field trip with “educated” friends and schools take some pics…by the way since when Goodwill Secondary is a top school?? just wondering lol
@ Amanda Scotland, I hope you are not saying that the Students in PCSS adventure club are uneducated… Because if that is what your’re sayin, then hmmm, i wont even comment on the being you are… Y’all always find a forum for your negativity…
the goodwill secondary school and convent high school geo classes went to the lake to study a topic we are educated students not students that cannot read and go on field trip and cannot learn. about the trip.
Very Nice photo… Good Job Mr. Jackson and continue exploring the beauty of Dominica with your students at PCSS… Nature Isle at it’s best!!!

Three days ago I asked for the sceneries of waters, mountains, and charming areas of the different villages, instead of the pictures of lizards, caterpillars, and the others. My request have been granted two days in a row so far, and I do not want to be selfish but I love it.
Thank you photographers and grace be with you all. And yes, it is a very humble way to sell or advertise the beauty of our country. Keep up the good job.

@Tomas:
what man sees as disaster is just natures way of rebelling against man’s mistreatment or taking back its course
wow… just beautiful. I cant help but boast about “the Nature Isle” Lovely
Absolutely beautiful. I wonder how deep is this lake
this is so lovely, we need to do more of this kind to sell our lovely Island.
Isn’t that the lake above Layou village? Isn’t that water from the jammed Layou river? Isn’t that the lake that if allow to fill up will cause a catastrophic flow in the Layou village? Isn’t this beautiful? Isn’t it a miracle!
lovely…Dominica, truly blessed
hmm i wonder if there got anaconda and crocodiles
