To all you critics…educate yourselves on photography before you try to criticize it. Depending on the type of lens that you use (when taking the picture) there are noticeable changes. Photoshop can not do (so neatly) what the lenses do.

It’s beautiful but this picture has been altered. Look at the sharp right angle at the waves intersection and the curved horizon. I give an A for innovation!

Are you a photographer? I, too take pictures be they amateur ones. It all depends on what angle they are taken.
Do not be critical and enjoy the beauty of Dominica while God has given you eyes to see lest you lose your eyesight, even at a very young age.
God is not amused by critics and those who lack appreciation of what He has given them and who do not see the beauty in all things specifically in their own country.

    @Lizavier4Jesus:
As a Christian, you should never use the word “meat of snake”. We, Dominicans, in any part of the world do not eat snakes. Do you know anyone who eats snakes? The thought of this description is abhorrent.
As also the saying: “What comes out of people’s mouths and certain statements which they make, it is exactly who and what they are and depict.”
Think of what will Our Lord Jesus Christ say about that, your statement and response to me, coming from you who claim to be “4 Jesus”.
We are not at war or in a war. I was not angry with you for making such a statement. We both stated our opinions and have every right to do so. Think between the lines.
And who is forcing you to believe what others believe and to accept it? This is in your mentality.
Each one of us possess a different mentality and manner of thinking just as their character and personality traits. We are free to agree or disagree. This should be done in an amicable manner.
Those who viewed the picture have formed their own opinion. As beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I saw the beauty in it. I have formed mine and I am entitled to my own opinion as well as free to object to the criticisms of others and their demeaning statements which are imbedded in their hearts, directed at the photographer and the picture which he took, who specifically do not see the beauty in the picture. Always think of others first and their feelings. Have you considered the feelings of the photographer as you criticized it, accusing him of doctoring the picture? Too often there are those who conclude what which is inaccurate and which they cannot prove, providing false opinions to the viewers/readers.
The picture was placed on the Website, for our view and enjoyment and not meant for criticism unless you are a judge, judging it for a prize or not.
Face the facts. It is stated, “if we cannot say something good, say nothing at all.” Avoid criticisms and negativity, if at all possible.
Be less critical and be more complimentary. This is a godly Christian act of love/charity towards another fellow person. It is not as if he did something wrong.
Think God. Our Lord Jesus Christ never demeans anyone. As He inspires for good, He always uplifts them.
There are some people who call themselves Christians who have not let learned that.
Be fair and just. Positive thinking. Always think, “What will Our Lord Jesus Christ say and do?” WWJS and WWJD?
I love pictures. I love taking pictures. I love to view all the pictures of Dominica rivers, sea, lakes, and other scenery which are placed on DON Website.
I am broadminded enough to know that the pictures are taken in a certain position which is why this one looked the way it did.
Once, when I was home I bought a series of post cards which I placed in an album. On occasion, I show them off to those who visit me/whom I invite to my place of resident. I have even taken them to work to show them to co-workers. Such is my love for my country Dominica, my feeling about Dominica and it sceneries of rivers, sea, lakes, trees etc. They are unique. Dominica is indeed blest.
I reiterate that those pictures should not be criticized. The photographers did their best. Just enjoy the beauty and marvel about it. As the words of the song of the late Louis Armstrong: “…And I say to myself what a wonderful world” and Dominica scenery.

    @Lizavier4Jesus:

Keep in mind that Eve was tempted by a snake who deceived her and said: “You will be like God…” She, in turn, tempted Adam. Better believe it.
Our Almighty Father said to the snake: “You will crawl on the earth…” See the Book of Genesis.
    The snake has no legs.
Crabs, lobsters, turtles have something to walk on which is why they are “edible” for human consumption but not snakes in the Christian world.
To make such a statement about snakes depicts the wickedness of your heart.
Snakes are not man’s friends or man’s best friends. Never use that word to specifically Christians which all of us Dominicans are. This word should never cross the mind of a Christian much more to state it to a Christian or any human being for that matter.
Incidentally, I got some recipes for crabs as Crab Cakes. I cannot wait to try them as the lobster recipes.
Our Lord did say: “Which one of you who ask your parent for food/gift and is given a snake?” Always keep the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ in your heart, your mind, on your lips, your mouth and in your words/statements. This includes His encouragement to everyone, be they photographers. This is where you erred, as a so-called Christian.
Our Lord said: “By their fruits you will know them.”
It is also stated that Satan, the snake has no knees. Since he disobeyed God, through his pride and rebelliousness, he can never worship God and “kneel in homage to Him in His consecrated Church/House” even when he enters a Church and for worship. Have you ever thought of that?

To Gene Toronto: There is a saying that goes like that: One man’s meat is another man’s poison. This means that just because you like eating the meat of snake, does mean that I can understand why you do, and to eat that meat for me not throw up my belly to death.

It is the same as the picture above. I do not understand why you need to command everyone to accept what you decide is satisfactory to yourself. I said that I do not understand and cannot accept a certain feature of the above picture as authentic, unless you could have helped me to understand that feature, you have nothing to say against my observation.

I have no objections to one’s criticizing, but you seemed to be going out of context.

Gene, you obvio9usly know nothing about photography. There is more to photography than just whipping out your camera and shooting away. People who take an interest in photography look at a photo differently from you. Composition, lighting and depth of field are very important aspects of a good photograph.

Good work! Keep the picture just as it is. Never try to polish it up for it will not look natural. There are some people who worry too much and concern themselves about what which they should not. They do not enjoy beauty, Dominica’s beauty. I saw the beauty of it and did not question it. No need for me to do so. Ignore the critics. They will criticize any and everything. They have it in them to do so. Nothing pleases them. They should try taking pictures too.

If you are willfully identifying yourself as Anonymous be careful. The reason is because we have Anonymous with two or three different opinions. For example Anonymous said that this photograph was BREATH TAKING; while Anonymous also agreed with commentator, Photoshop. I have noticed other examples like that before. This makes it so difficult for the rest of us to know whose side Anonymous is on.

This happened to me last week. I was accidentally identified as Anonymous, when I did not notice that my usual identity was wiped out from the response box before I submitted my comment. Having submitted the same comment with a few different expressions, Anonymous and my new identity ended up getting the same rating for our comments. Thanks to God, both ratings were good and they had the same number of thumbs up.

So unless you are identifying yourself as Anonymous, make sure your response box has an identity, otherwise DNO will just accept your comment with the Anonymous identity. Nothing wrong with that; except that if Anonymous should come up against me or for me, I would like to know that Anonymous is a person with the same manner of mind and reasoning. Wouldn’t you?

its an obvious photoshop, your lack of skill gave you away! you couldn’t blend the layers together, you just joined them. you could have used a soft clone stamp tool too smoothen the edges and expand the wave line. This is blasphemy, not only did you try to fool the public but you fail at photoshop, get off our internets!!!

@photoshop: I had no intention of trickery or anything of the sort…. actually after i took the photo i too thought that there are some obvious mistakes in the lining up of the shots…. I looked at it laughed…….. but still thought it was a beautiful picture……If i wanted to i could have used photoshop to fix those mistakes but felt that the essence of the shot would have been lost to me so i left it…….. hate it or love it……It is what it is

Clearly an altered photo here. In my opinion, if you are going to chose a photo of the day, don’t do it with one that has been altered. While I enjoy creativity, I think that it is only fair that the chosen photo should be unaltered and reflect the true image as it was captured.

There was no Photoshopping done this picture as the description says…….It is in fact a picture done using the panoramic feature on the camera three images taking in succession and stitched together but the camera
