It is a beautiful tree which bears a colorful red pepper. We had one growing in the yard. Little children will think that it is a fruit to eat.
Watch them that they do not go near the tree and touch the pepper. If they do and place their fingers in their eyes it will obviously burn and will be painful for hours. I have witnessed it in my home in DA.

Too much of one thing is good for nothing. Some people love to eat a lot of pepper. It is not always healthy to do so.

Cayenne pepper in the eye? Are you serious? I have never heard of this. I have heard and read about the health benefit of cayenne pepper/powder but not pepper in the eyes. I use the powder sparingly in certain foods, also when making certain salad dressings.
Whenever I make pepper sauce I have to use a glove to touch the pepper because it is so hot. The smell of it could makes me cough. I visualize if my fingers touch this pepper and I rob my eyes, they will burn. A person could go blind. I reiterate you must have made a joke about placing it in the eye. I believe this is bad advice whether it is in the form of a joke. Some people may take you seriously and damage their eyes.

Agree with you my friend. “zozyo” is our creole for
the original French “des-oiseaux” or “of the birds”. Don’t know where “zibyea” comes from but perhaps someone can tell us.

      • Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0 TeteMorne I from... September 18, 2012

But a Zibyea is a bird…a zozyo. Same thing.
