For some silver and gold,
My innocence is sold
Mommy allows him
To daily abuse me.
Protector to me
My mommy should be
But into his hands
She delivers me
My life is crushed
And bitter too
Because my mummy
Lets him call me honey
Where do I go
And how do I turn
Because my dear mommy
Has sold me for money
Who’s to protect us
And who stands for us
Because others who know
Are afraid to show.

well done. this poem should be posted all around in Dominica.
Well done Justina! I agree with feed uo domincan. this poem should be in all the schools, and departments/institutions who deal with children. Heaven help us.
some mommies would much rather comment on other political and social issues not the ones which affect our lil ones whose well being ought to be protected with every last breath. I am not a mother but i can understand the pain of a child when i hear or see it.
As a mother, I felt like crying when I read this beautiful and moving poem.
Can it be texted/faxed/emailed to the police, social services and all other relevant departments to read.
This is so true and is constantly happening in our society. I am surprised that no one has commented
