This is definitely NOT a soursop, but it is a member of the SOURSOP FAMILY… like custard apple (kachimAN), kachiman-lawim, sugar apple and kachiman-dyab (kowosol kochon, mamen) that grows in the swamp at Cabrits

    Oh!how i miss these fruits.
For those of you who are interested, please note that this fruit has the ability to heal breast cancer, that is why it looks like a woman,s breast.God is so wise that he created certain fruits resembling different organs in the human body. Those of you who have access to these fruits, please make use of them. They will prove to be a blessing to your body and not a curse.

Lady, a breast with prickles so? Well, I have never seen that in my life. You must have a very unusual imagination.

    • September 15, 2013

I cant remember it. But if it a cancel healing fruit, maybe we need to cultivate it create a major industry from this fruit.

When bringing in these exotic species to the nature Ilse, the importers better ensure they do their due diligence and get all their phytosanitary conditions vetted. Dominica’s agricultural products have enough imported pestilence to risk piling more.

It’s a Koworsol Diab(jumbie sweetsop)A gentleman from mahaut deceased John Parker alias Corea used to blows them down.As youngsters growing up in the Mahaut/Jimmit area we never touched it.We don’t know the scientific name so maybe someone from agriculture/forestry could post it for our enlightment.

      September 14, 2013

Hey Kaka Bouwik, you are surely from Belfast. Couria used to eat that and we used to wonder why he never died because they told us it was poisonous. So there is something he knew that we did not know about.

I’m with you on that name. At first glance I thought it was a custard apple, but on closer inspection, I noticed that it also looked like a soupsop (but I don’t think it is).

  53. Farmer Boii
    September 13, 2013

Beach Sugar Apple: – Annona salzmannii

An extremely rare Annona bearing green skinned fruits up to one pound in weight, with a sweet and very tasty white pulp. The fruit is prized in its native range, but unfortunately still very rare and never cultivated.

Description: An evergreen tree to 30-45ft, one of the tallest of the Annona’s.

    Hardiness: Unknown.

    Growing Environment: Unknown.

    Propagation: By seeds.

Uses: The fruits are eaten fresh and given high marks by those who have tasted them

    • Enquirer
      September 13, 2013

Farmer Boii, you did not have to take the information straight from the website (tradewindsfruit.com) and paste it like that on DNO. Next time change it up a bit in your own words.

      • Anonymous
        September 13, 2013

Information is necessary so don’t be jealous you didn’t get to post it. Changing it would make it any different because it came from a credible source and not from Farmer Boii.

The Farmer only tried to share the information and feed the brain, not create it.

Looks like of the Custard Apple Family (Kashima) . But most varieties of Kashima I have seen do have a smooth skin – this fruit has a skin surface to that of Sour Sop (or sweet Sop) family.

    I’m really just guessing!!
