Police are investigating the first fatal accident of the year which occurred Friday evening.
Reports are that the driver, Johnson Bannis, was on his way to Castle Bruce with two other passengers when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle which ran off the road and plunged into a valley.
Dead is 30-year-old Kelvin Toussaint, a passenger on the vehicle. The other passenger, Keron Robin, along with the driver, sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed that another accident occurred on the Newtown highway at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The accident, a collision of a bus and a motorcycle, occurred near the All Nations Bar. While the bus driver sustained minor injuries, the motorcyclist, a 17-year-old, received life threatening injuries and is being treated at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

It has been so long that I haven’t seen Kelvin, almost eleven years ago and when I heard what happened I was so hurt. I can remember kelvin so clear like it was yesterday, he was a very active child. He and his brother would always get into mischief but they were good kids. Words can’t express the way I feel right now. I remember him being a little chubby kid and he also stuttered when he cried. I try to remember the time that I knew Kevin and I am truly sorry that I did not get to met him when he was all grown up. My deepest condolence goes out to the family and friends of Kelvin. Be strong for each other and I will keep you all in my prayer. And to you Kelvin we will see each other again.

It’s so sad that DNO only states that a bus and motorcycle were inolved in an accident……. the real circumstances behind this accident is negligence/reckless driving on the bus driver part……. he was overtaking another vehicle and pulled towards the motorcycles side of the road…….
The youngster (LAHL….as he is known in Tarish Pit) pulled away from the bus hoping that the driver would wahzay him…. but the driver never budged…. he hit that boy fulll…. just imagine the boy didn’t even hit the center… he hit dead right of that bus….
Also, we would like to know, “how can DNO determine the level of damaged received by the bus driver?” after the accident he ran off!!!!!!! police still looking fr him!!!!
Its just a pity…………. My heart goes out to the Ghetto (extended Family) in Tarish……… cause i also received word that Lahl was given only 72hours……

1. Last Friday Josh bus crash near morne Trois Piton, he and the passager ended up in the hosptial
2. This Friday in the afternon Kenshin jeep turn over in pond case, to the passenger at the hospital hope you get better soon
3. Later Friday evening Johnson (Paweh) van went down the valley.
4. When the funeral home van was coming to Castle Bruce it went off the road in Belle Fille
5. Even Cabi put him self in big problem
6. Today Saturday, another accident in Castle Bruce

I know that the Chinese are building the new highway from Roseau to Portsmouth. It’s time to add barriers to some of our most dangerous roads, post signs and address some of our most dangerous corners. That road to Castle Bruce has been claiming lives for as far as I can remember. How many more lives must be claimed by vehicles running off the road with no barriers to stop them?

Well this can happen to anyone, my condolenses goes out to the desease family, it is a very sad moment and we never know when the hour is going to be, the time has come for you son to go and we just have to pray that he is going to be among the loving angles. Am very sorry to hear about the others who are seriously injured please get better soon and to the driver it is not your fault so do not feel guilty because this can happen to anyone. Just be more carefull when driving as well as every body else.
