Ron Green sympathizes with family of Shanice Jemmott

Shanice has been missing for 14 days now

Leader of the United Workers Party (UWP) Ron Green has described the disappearance of 14-year old Shanice Jemmott of Layou as ‘depressing’ and has called on persons who may have information to assist.

Speaking with Dominica News Online Green sympathized with the family and friends of the missing girl on behalf of himself and the UWP.

“It’s a sad day in Dominica when a young girl 14-years old goes missing as she has,” Green stated. “We’re up to now unable to gather the information to know where she is or what condition she’s in and I want to sympathize with her family and her friends and call on all Dominicans who may have information.”

He continued, “We have to come together in situations like that to ensure that our country goes forward and I urge the police also to be as vigilant as they can as they continue but a lot of time has passed and it looks pretty depressing at this time.”

The police have reported that the search for the missing teen is ongoing.

It was also reported that another man of Canefield, Julien Jno-Finn, has also gone missing.

It seems to me that Shanice was mysteriously taken up in a chariot of fire like one of the prophets; or, according to some branches of christianity, a rapture; she was suddenly taken up.

All the police says on tv, ‘we are looking into the matter.’ Not one time I’ve heard of some heroic deed the police has done that really made an impact!

I sympathise with the family of Shanice. I have a daughter that is making 14 in a few days time and I feel very scared when I hear these things happening. I drive my kids to school everyday and they are always with me. But just the thought of one not coming home scares me.Let us all just forget all other issue and put ourselves in her mother place. How would you feel? Would you be thinking politics? Lets put our heads and hearts together as one big family circle and pray for God to take everything under control/

    i think
1)she ran away thats y someone cud have seen her walkin down but didnt suspect anything
    2) the bus driver kidnapped her
    3)she is out of state
    4) she is dead
5)=3+4 ppl saw her getting kidnapped but the person they saw is not someone you want to mess with

Scared to death I think it’s # 1…something about this whole thing stinks…the authorities are not giving out anything other than she’s missing and that’s just not right…I grew up in Dominica and during my childhood two kids from my class went missing…the community pulled their resources and found those two boys within 24 hours.

this poor little girl has been missing too long now, i am affraid it is number 4, how can you just disappear like that, if she left the island then some one would have seen her, dominica is a place of talk and gossip, and dominicans usually tell each others business, but only one person knows where she is i feel, and that is the person who take her, i hope to the almighty father looking over us i am wrong….. i keep my prayers of hope going

I still can’t believe that Dominica is such a small island and NOBODY saw anything!!!!!!!! Nobody saw her walking on the road that morning? I mean, she left her house and just vanished??? I hope and pray that she is still alive. I hope is just a kidnapping and not a murder. I hope that whatever happened to her will be made known to us soon. But honestly, wherever she is, God is with her.

Yes a picture and/or news about the disappearance should be reported on local TV and radio station in neighboring islands. She might have very well been taken overseas.

 why does everything that happens in Dominica some people have to mix politics in it? i don’t believe a man sympathizing to a family questions like that should be asked.

I wholeheartedly agree. They should be praying for Shanice’s return and also for you, her family who are eagerly wishing for her safe return. I, too would like them to cease their politics which is uncalled for in this article. This is no time for politics. I would also like to inform them, have a heart.
