All Saints University School of Medicine has reassured the Government and People of Dominica that the school will be returning to the island by May 2018.
President of the All Saints, Dr Joshua Yusuf, made the disclosure at a cheque presentation and discourse with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, on December 19, 2017.
Since October, after the passage of Hurricane Maria, All Saints students have been temporarily relocated to St Vincent, although all staff have been retained and are working at the Dominica Campus.
Dr Yusuf said that the students could not return in January 2018 for the Winter Semester, as hoped, due to a shortage of rooms, however, the school has projected its return for May 2018. He said the students will return to the island in phases during the Winter Semester, and all students will be back on Island by May.
To show their continued support and desire to invest in the country, the All Saints University School of Medicine made a donation to the Government of Dominica in the amount of $100,000ECD to help Dominicans with relief efforts.
Work on the Warner Expansion is expected to continue in the course of the new year.
The University is asking all persons with apartments for rent, to kindly contact the school so that the number of rooms for housing students and faculty can be achieved in a timely manner. Their contact numbers are (767) 440-5220 or (767) 245-2643.
The University took this time to wish all Dominicans the very best for the end of the year and for 2018. Sincerest sympathies were also extended to all who lost family members and property during the Hurricane Maria ordeal.
In your book Skerrit I guess this is the gap filler for the loss of Ross. Man you are so predictable…
One thing Dominicans do not learn. Always sceptical and more so political.
I went thru the same thing as all of you who almost died in Maria and yet still some people cannot appreciate life for what it is. Always bashing and not reflecting internally.
I spoke with one of the foreign faculty members who is presently in St. Vincent teaching who indeed told me via WhatsApp chat since last week before the Ross story broke that they would be returning in May (even talking about transferring their child back in school here).
If you don’t know then stop “AssUming”.
All Saints coming back? We’ll, not according to the Nigerian mother, who is very happy her child transferred to zest. Vincent.
All Saint University. Really!!!! …….Is Love University coming next???
SMH…..More fancy foot work by a deceitful PM.
I hope Dominicans make this administration pay dearly.
In other news, For those who are going to be laid off from Ross university this is a Great chance to see how wonderful the rubbish NEP (not employed permanently) program is. Remember the cabal claimed that nep is self sustaining and people are gainfully employed? Maybe NEP is climate resilient too given that the NEP program mostly consists of human weed Wackers cleaning up the roadsides for a penny. Lol… let’s see the Ross employees go from air condition to weeding the road sides under the hot sun. Labor ka travay… if we had move quickly to getting back on our feet after Maria Ross would have not been cutting staff but here in Dominica we like to take things nice and slow so now Ross is doing us what we deserve and they’really leaving us nice and slow
I guess both you Skerrit, and All Saints will have between now and May to come up with a reason why they will not be operating here. Both of you already know but you need to bull …. the people some more into believing your lies.
Seeing is believing.
If so why not look into having Posse be another possibility 4 AllSaints if Skerrit is being played by Ross.
hmmmmm sounding good for now
Assertive NEVER Aggressive!
Part of strategy to get Ross to return – what timing!. Unfortunately the dishonesty with that press statement last week re Ross knowing the facts was not well timed. Stop fooling the populace.
That’s true, All Saints cannot be relocated because its not a credited off shore university. As the writing said in St. Vincent doing what and see the date the donation was made.
Sometimes they use their own MONIES to give All Saints to make this donation, am not letting nothing pass them.
In St Vincent studying, Mr facts. Haven’t you seen the massive campus All Saints has in St Vincent. That dump they have in Roseau is nothing compared to the footprint they have down there. Stop Bull** We know Dca need the investment. All you cannot just be happy? smh
