the question is why did the security system did not work like i know it should. we are paying platinum monthly not forgetting the tens of thousand of dollars that we paid for the security and camera systems. My friend have one he got from A&M Home Security and if you open any door or windows apart from the front door the system sounds off instantly if is the front door they open in ten seconds the alarm will sounds off

The alarm system did work… You need to get your facts straight. If you really worked at Courts then you would have known that.

Just a month ago (July 16th to July 18th) Platinum Security held a security exposition. You would think an establishment like Courts (Dominica), that happens to sell high-end high-tech electronic equipment on the ground, would have, not only attended the exposition, but take a leaf from some of the other business establishments that were in attendance and invested in a start-of-the-art security system; indoor and out. By the way, I did bracket Dominica because at Courts outlets in other islands around the Caribbean, this is not the case (surveillance wise).

I blame skerrit and the ignorant ones who say he should not be blamed. This is what u get when u increase taxes and regulations and lower people standard of living u make them desperate to survive.

Morihei Ueshiba, who are you to call others ignorant? So because you disagree with them and vice versa does not mean that you should brand them as ignorant. Do you know who they are and how educated they are? Even so, people are free to agree or disagree. You have a mind of your own. You state whatever you feel like is on your mind, sometimes only on feelings, accord them their freedom of right to state theirs.
If you possess common sense you will know that people are individual, possessing their own mind. They do not have to agree with you. Your views are yours; not theirs.
It is ignorant to call people ignorant based on your disagreeing with them and vice versa. Be fair. Respect their views/comments.

A company providing a good security system is needed in Dominica. A system where the premises are monitored with cameras and alarms and also allowing owners to monitor their homes or businesses via a computer device even when they out of the country.

last year was muslim know is courts so where next thats what business owners have to of

If this enterprise has a security alarm system, what happened to them that they were not activated when thieves broke and entered the store? Something is fishy. “Who did it?”
An investigation will be conducted. The thieves could be caught. Start quaking in your shoes, thieves for “Thou Shalt Not Steal”.

Please people get your facts straight. The company does have CCTV and intrusion systems in place. Please beremind that while CCTV acts as a deterant it would not stop persons from committing these types of activites.

Courts has glass doors and windows with no burglar bars, before you comment about the police, courts need to protect there investment. Glass display with no burglar bars = negligence!

Where is Court Alarm system? If in case the have cameras the culprits should be caught. I’am wondering if it was an inside job.

I hope there are cameras there and why did they not put security bars on the doors and windows…some persons working hard with satan now….

well it is not practical to have police officers stationed at every business place in town. I think the business places must compliment the efforts of the police by investing in security systems; especialy those with audio alarms.

people dont be cattles n follow n listen to what you read, this could well be an inside job, plus insurance will pay for the stolen items.

    • August 17, 2013

People steal because “insurance will pay”. Every theft at certain places is not inside jobs.

I would give those police ‘blose’. On Wednesday night they had the whole traffic dpt in Canefield doing traffic check and impounding people vehicle. You think if the people had money they would not pay their license and insurance.

    • I DIE NU
      August 16, 2013

They don’t have money and they buying vehicle.

    • August 17, 2013

Kudos to the DMV for making periodic/mandatory traffic stops and impounding people’s vehicles.

If you are unable to pay for your license and insurance you should not be driving. Once you get your driver’s license you do not have to pay until the renewal phase. You MUST have INSURANCE and a VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE to be on the ROAD.

    • Malgraysa
      August 18, 2013

Serves them right. Not too poor to buy and drive a vehicle but pleading but pleading hardship when it comes to paying their dues. The police doing right. Imagine you being hit by a vehicle that is not insured! That is irresponsible and not funny.

They keep the uneducated fools and get rid of the educated, you would be surprised the amount of people working at courts without proper education, got my degree and they are still under paying me 1800 a month only in dominica,

  16. Me again
    August 16, 2013

Well, Courts’ insurance will pay so no sweat off their backs. The culprits should be more concerned than courts. Unless they took only cash, furniture will be seen and eventually, they will be caught. That places a certain amount of accountability on the general public. So the question is, “Will you call the police if you see some suspicious looking furniture on the move?” Do your part to reduce crime.

Not every instance that insurance pay. If one understand the principle of insurance and how it works then you will understand that insurances dont always pay. Persons must stop thinking that insurances always pay. Those of us who own a vehicle will understand the principle of insurance.

The solution to crimes in this country is; the police should be paid for overtime duties. In my opinion, that community policing which was introduced few years ago has created, or I should say has contributed to all the crimes that are now and is being created in our beautiful isle of D.A. Lord help us! Soon residents throughout Dominica may be scared walking or attending functions.

Shames on those businesses that allow that to happen to them especially of they are making interest and large sums of miney from the service they provide. They need to take a cue from Krazy Frankie Bellot who knows and understand what is is to provide security. He make money but he knows and understands how to keep it and his equipment that cost thousands away from those thieves. Krazy you must have a meeting with all the business in Roseau you all must form an association. Krazy not only providing security for inside his business he covers a good portion of the road all the way by the St Martin School

Question, courts have alot of alarm system all over the building set up and cameras, so why did’nt anything go off, was anybody caught on camera, was it an inside job?

Instead of having all officers on vehicle patrol allow them to do foot patrol. It will keep the police officers alert and help keep the city safer. There is really no police presence on the roads at nights and this is very essential. We need to start as of yesterday.

    • Malgraysa
      August 16, 2013

I agree. That is what is sorely lacking. Foot patrols in the city during the night. I’m afraid to walk in that town after dark, which is a pity because it could be lively with people making money if we had good security.

Yesterday I saw two police officers doing foot patrol rounds. So they do make rounds.

    August 16, 2013

something really need to be done about that. Mr. Chief of police let your police Officers patrol the streets of Roseau, where we have so many business place.
In years gone by when we have Officers like Pestainer, sogo fly and others patrol the streets and they did not even have all those vehicles police have now.
Instead of seating at the police station send a set out every 3 hours.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE IT IS TO LATE. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER LATER THAN NOT AT ALL.
ITF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW, U NEVER TO OLD TO LEARN ASK THE OLD POLICE

so you expect police to be in evry business places doing watch? and on the other hand you all have so much negative things to say about police..as the saying goes, you hate the americans but you love their buscuits

  24. Dominican for sure
    August 16, 2013

You see…this exposes a great risk of lack of security in and around Roseau at nights. Mr. Provost alluded to it, some time last month when his vehicle was broken into. Where are our Police Officers? Most of them are just seating there putting on weight and being in-efficient, they cannot even run after a theft. Where are the officers on training? Maybe this is a good time for them to do some night patrol. Finally, all the businesses around Roseau should invest in Security Cameras, this would deter crimes and assist in providing a greater level of security for businesses in Roseau.

      August 16, 2013

What about Courts employing Security Cameras and a Security company? There are many Security companies on island!

The limited police in and around Roseau cannot cover the entire city at the same time.

    August 16, 2013

Well if in this day of technology Roseau street doh haves surveillance cameras, courts doh have burglar alarms hi tech, well what we get we have to take…we not learning then hmm…
