I don’t believe a life sentence would be sufficient punishment for such a crime, neither would the current methods of the death penalty. I would organize something new for people like him where they would be maimed and tortured for days or finger by finger, limb by limb while being administered expert medical care complete with blood transfusions (minus the anesthesia off course) and allowed to recover somewhat only to have the torture restarted, until they are unable to scream or cry anymore … and finally doused with petrol and set ablaze… excuse me Dno for this gruesome detail in what I would describe as a fitting punishment but I am a father, and this article hurt my heart just to read it..

Everyday, there are reports of murders in Trinidad. How could a once jewel of the Caribbean turn into such a chaotic graveyard? This is mind boggling! I wish to convey deepest condolences to the grieving parents and relatives for the loss of their innocent baby. This entire world is in decay.

Ibo these are the consequences of a society which has gone terribly wrong; one which did turn this way overnight, but was systematically transformed by a series of corrupt politicians who associated with criminals to achieve their ends. This sort of alliances normalized crime and the situation was made worst by an accepting populace who turn a blind eye and adopted and lived by “the snitches die law”. It doesn’t help either that a significant portion of the police force is corrupt and are also involved in illegal activities such as taking bribes to look the other way.
Something is definitely wrong with the person who does such a crime. A normal soul can’t help but to love and cherish a baby.

Plato, I wholeheartedly welcome and completely agree with every word of your comment. We, the electors in these Caribbean, are satisfied with mediocrity, and too apathetic to wrongdoings by government officials. A corrupt government has a corrupting effect on the rest of society. The people have the power to effect positive changes but allow themselves to be easily manipulated by these deceitful political who are well armed with guile, subterfuge and duplicity.
