BUSINESS BYTE: KIA Motors earns Best ever ranking in 2015

kia-oval-logo-4J.D. Power Initial Quality Study July 1st, 2015 With more units in operation in the U.S. than ever before, Kia Motors reached another historic milestone on June 17, 2015 when J.D. Power recognized the brand as the second highest scoring nameplate industry-wide in its 2015 Initial Quality Study (IQS).

Kia’s IQS score improved by 20 points over its previous best-ever performance in 2014, vaulting the growing automaker up four positions to second overall among 33 automotive brands and highest among all mass-market nameplates.

Kia’s ascension was powered by segment-leading performances from two of the company’s best-selling vehicles – Soul and Sorento – while the Rio, Optima, Cadenza, Sportage and Sedona models all ranked in the top three of their respective categories.

“We believe the J.D. Power report leaves no doubt that Kia builds world-class vehicles, and the results are especially gratifying as the IQS study truly reflects the voice of our customers,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP, Kia Motors America. “Kia’s rise is one of the industry’s greatest success stories and is driven by the hard work of thousands of team members around the world as well as our long-term strategy to concentrate on quality, strengthen the brand and elevate the ownership experience.”

Kia has the best selling SUV’s on Island. It has steadily taken its place as its market share went from single digits to double digits over the past 3 years. Auto Trade Ltd offers a complete line of KIA vehicles to include: Sorento, Sportage, Picanto & K2700. The new breed of SUV models of Sportage & Sorento are the top selling SUV’s in the midsize luxury category.

Kia hosts the most significant technical trainings in a regional country increasing the participation and penetration levels in a successful way. When asked this question: “What are your thoughts on Kia Motors earning best-ever ranking in 2015 J.D.Power Initial Quality Study?” Felix Nevares, General Manager, Auto Trade Ltd had this to say: “J.D.Power is one of the most reputable survey entity in regard to quality in North America. It does not come to me as a surprise that KIA was able to achieve this level in so many models as they have. KIA pays special attention to details in the manufacturing process, delivery process, storage process, sales process, parts, distribution system & after sales support. Their capability as a manufacturer is just amazing, the efforts and the Human Resource they put behind the brand is very impressive. ”

Now in its 29th year, the annual J.D. Power IQS analyzes responses from vehicle owners in 26 segments.

IQS is determined by vehicle owners evaluating the driving experience, engine and transmission performance, and a broad range of quality-related problems within the first 90 days of ownership.

Trevor, this is known as an “advertorial., You accommodate a good client with a write up dressed up a a genuine piece of journalism, for which you do not charge. Happens all the time. They are not trying to fool anyone as it is clear to even dummies like myself what it is. You must realise, DNO, like any other independent news organ, has to earn its keep. I have no objection.

Admin: Thank you so much for your comment. We agree that it is an advertorial and that is why we have decided to publish it under a special segment Business Bytes instead of presenting it as a “genuine piece of journalism.”

I agree, Autotrade are the best distributors- and service agents on the island. They are not the cheapest but you you get what you pay for, professionlism and quality (…and no, I am not a shareholder in that company!).
