The Board of Directors of the Dominica Hotel & Tourism Association (DHTA) has confirmed the resignation of two members of its top brass.
The organization said President, Jonathon Vidal and Board Secretary, Gwenith Whitford, resigned effective 6th February, 2014.
“At a board meeting held on 10th February, 2014, it was agreed upon by the Board of Directors, in accordance with the by-laws of the DHTA, that Vice President, Renee Whitchurch Aird-Douglas will serve as Acting President, and Ms. Daryl Aaron will serve as Acting Secretary until the AGM which is scheduled earlier this year for 27th June 2014,” the organization said in a release.
It said other Board of Directors would remain as Vanessa Prevost, Treasurer, Directors – Herve Nizard, Tanaquil Pfund, Daniel Nunez, and IPP Ms. Yvonne Armour.
“The DHTA is committed to developing and representing the hospitality, travel and tourism industry within Dominica, one of the Caribbean’s leading eco-tourism destinations,” the organization said. “The DHTA Board of Directors looks forward to forging closer public-private sector partnerships as it seeks to fulfill its mission.”
In interview with DNO earlier this week, Vidal said he resigned due to circumstances beyond his control.
