Armed with a vision to become one of Dominica’s and the region’s top marketing firms, young entrepreneurs Tridel Edwin and Elias Dupuis of 365 MMP are one step closer to realising that dream.
Their company, 365 MMP, has copped the award of Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Elias Nassief Foundation.
It was presented on Wednesday 4th, December, 2013.
Marketing Manager, Graphic Designer and Photographer of 365 MMP Tridel Edwin and Photographer, Editor and Production Manager of 365 MMP Elias Dupuis told Dominica News Online that winning the award was a major achievement both for them and their company.
“The Nassief family have a long history of entrepreneurship. Not only with Mr Elias Nassief but his children and others and I think if those people recognise that we are doing something good in entrepreneurship in the country then that certainly means a lot, and for that we appreciate it,” Dupuis said.
365 MMP is a marketing firm and has been in existence for the past three years rendering services in marketing, photography, graphic design, and videography.
The two explained that the idea to start such a business came about while they were having a conversation in their dorm room at University.
“All of this started while we were at Northern Caribbean University (in Jamaica). We were speaking in his (Tridel’s) dorm room about what we were going to do, and we decided that this would be a good opportunity to take on something together and we were already friends/cousins, we knew each other from before so were comfortable working with each other, Dupius explained. “We quickly realized that photography was going to be a big part of our business and it has remained that way so we basically had to learn certain things.”
When asked what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, both young men stated that it has not easy since accessing finance is one of the major challenges of any aspiring entrepreneur.
“It is not easy, it’s not impossible but it is not easy and you have to stay the course,” Dupuis said. “We decided very early that we were not going to get other jobs, we were not going to try to do other things, we were going to keep pushing our mantra and our brand of business even sometimes pushing a little harder with particular people.”
He indicated further that aspiring entrepreneurs should listen to and follow the real stories of established entrepreneurs such as Robert Tonge, Sam Raphael and others.
The young entrepreneurs expressed gratitude to their parents, the AID Bank, the National Bank of Dominica, the Tonge group of companies, Sam Raphael, Invest Dominica Authority, Dominica Youth Business Trust, Natasha Yelloy, Careen Prevost, Kareem Fabien, Sirriah Bannis, and their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter fans for their support.
As part of the award the company received a generous contribution from the Elias Nassief Foundation which the young men explained will go toward the further development of their business.
The two thanked the Elias Nassief Foundation for seeing the potential in them to be “awesome.”

DOMINICA has lots of ambitious people. Please ‘the government of Dominica’, pay attention to our youths, help them mentally, financially, and make sure we have good health institutions. They are the future of our country. GIVE good incentives, so they could stay to Develop the country.
We are tired of living our country for greener pastures, and it is not always greener. Sometimes it is dryer. I know what I am saying. Once you have a good footing at home, you don’t have to leave to go to develop someone else’s country, and we have nothing home and nothing in the other country to fall back on. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
