One of the choirs at the event

National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD), once again teamed up with the Portsmouth Town Council to bring joy and Christmas cheer to a large crowd in Boroughs Square, Portsmouth.

The annual Christmas Carolling event was held on Saturday, 17th December and was well attended by NBD staff and members of the Northern community.

Eleven choirs, groups and individuals, performed, creating a festive atmosphere filled with the spirit of Christmas.  One member of NBD described the event as one of high standard.  She stated that “the choirs went all out with their performances and really showed the level of talent in the north of the island.”

Executive Manager, Marketing for NBD, Suzanne Joseph-Piper, said that she felt “the true spirit of Christmas alive in Portsmouth.  The event was extremely well attended and we are happy to be part of the northern community and to bring the event to this audience every year.”

The Bank says that the annual event is made possible through its continued relationship with the dedicated team at the Portsmouth Town Council and the community.

Ian Douglas, Parliamentary representative for the Portsmouth Community, spoke at the event citing it as the heralding of the true Christmas spirit in the community.  He noted that the Christmas Carolling event was one that was growing every year and commended the NBD for playing a leading role in the socio-cultural development of Portsmouth.

The event included a well-lit Christmas tree and music by the NBD Possie Culture Pan.  NBD also visited the Colihaut Primary School earlier this month to host the Bank’s annual children’s christmas party.
