well, well. ure sad but entirely acceptable. c’est lavie. pple just keep on praying. it’s so heartbreaking how so many vieille case youth are being murdered, when this village is always the one producing most of the brain in the country. Francillia and Dean by the same person, then Curt, now Julien ….. there are others. Lord, help our beautiful village.
Now, we won’t give up. This whole country needs deliverance. Lord, cleanse this place. Skerrit, Can’t u see? we need the death sentence. Y’all blind??
Hold strong Julien sr. Julien had a bit of a temper but would express it only if he was tired of warning. He ran away for trouble. I hope that the family of his ( mother’s side) will change their ways now that he’s gone. I think those pple are so rotten, not even that will change them. Motherr, sisters, Aunts, Cousins, all, tons of villagers admired the boy cuz he was so much different from you all, a bunch of selfless, trouble-makers.”when fathers plant peas and reap peppers, that happens” R.I.P jonior

i live in calibishie and crime here is the same as everywhere else. less than most places. so dont judge the village please.
my first impression when i heard this ws OMG!!!! all i could see is his face. so quiet and respectful. usually they are the ones who go first right? they are maybe needed in heavn. so dont judge him. smoking isnt worse than adultry, fornication, stealing, ect. its only a way of life that hurts only the individual and no one else. he was a good boy
my second impression was, OMG!!!! the primeministers village!! it really looks bad when u look at it that way. but no matter what village he was from, its still sad
my heart goes out to his family. i feel your pain. god’s strenth upon u. peace, and hope. he is not suffering where he is now. he is in complete peace and rest. every thing happens for a reason. take time out to find out what is god’s purpose for this. god is love
and to the family of the murderers,,, u feel ur pain too. u didnt kill this boy. u r suffering too knowing ur sons are in this mess. i feel ur pain too. but justice has to be done.
to the calibishie boys who were at the scene and didnt help the stranger,,, u will be a stranger too one day

We can talk, the Vieille boy in Jan,2009…who were his friends/? What was is main job? I t is sad when any one dies, worse when it is man made. Now is the time to look in the mirrow in all communities. Reach out to our drop outs, those who need help by as they lend thier thoughts to negative behaviour! All of them have relatives. Pray for our nation, lift families to God and as we comment look around us and lend ahand in our own community. Stop staying on the fence! Put our positve thoughts into community reach out programes.Change ourselves and lets help impact positively on others.

Alas this is so sad, my heart goes out to both families. although it is not an easy thing to digest when one loses a family member in this way, it must be very hard on the other family”side too, especially a concerned and loving mother. do you think its easy for any of the mothers?

    February 8, 2010

No man should take another’s life-it’s a NO NO.
But when you have an arguement with someone and instead of maybe talking it out or fighting with your hands(although fighting is not right) u bring a deadly weapon into the mix; u have intentions- which is v ery bad intentions. The situation could be the other way around if the victim wasn’t dead.
People need to hear both sides of the story and stop casting judgements.
You play with fire you will get burn…..just saying….

  19. MY VIEW POINT
    February 8, 2010

My sincere condolences goes out to the families of the victim; no one would like to see thier child ‘go’ in this way. All because of a sensless arguement and a fight which was uncalled for. This is a lesson for all Dominicans those at home and abroad because it could happen to anyone;anywhere.

Also, to the families of the offenders my prayers to you all beacuse I was in your place a few years ago and know what it is and all the negativity that comes out of the situation. The community thinks that it is a parent’s fault when thier child commits a crime but this child is an adult and know right from wrong and the parent should not be blamed for thier child’s foolish and senseless acts of viloence.

I hope that this case will not just vanish in the dust like the others gone before. how many of our young men must we loose before drastic measures can be taken to execute those who murder people. I say bring back capital punishent .people should not be killing people and just sit in jail for ten or fifteen years. this is absurd. In less than one year three young men lives have been cut short by criminals and no one is held accountable for murdering them .what is DOMINICA coming to? Is it now the land of the lawless where people choose to do whatever they want with no regard for the law? what are our leaders doing to curb this problem ?do you think that teacihng these criminals skills and trades in prison will make them better people?DOMINICANS LETS STAND UP TO THE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND DEMAND THAT THEY BEGIN EXECUTING THESE MURDERERS BE IT BY HANGNG, LETHAL INJECTION OR WHATEVER MEANS POSIBLE.Our young men are dying at the mercy of these murderers. lets send a message to people who think they can kill and get away with it.CHANGE THE LAW AND BRING BACK CAPITAL PUNISHMENT BEFORE ALL OUR YOUNG MEN VANISH BEFORE OUR EYES MR. PRIME MINISTER.

This island is running down the drain like a dirty water flowing down on the river bes,Where there are many routin fishes and crabs, what mean to say from your prime minister and ministers down to some of the people who suppose to set examples and creat jobs to help these young people are part of the evil and corrupeted life on this island .You’ll will never learn and thats it because you went back and drink the same dirty water from the river.

To DOMINICAN, help me understand your point. I am gone past 40 and my mother is gone past 60 ever since we can rememeber societies always consist of different levels or status where some will always have more than others. In fact this is a biblical fact.

Dominica is no exception and if you are elsewhere the same applies. Chances are you might be the one who is better off from where you stand, who knows??….Does that mean we all should fight and kill?

    Fellow Dominicans,

It is indeed a sad time for all families involved and our community as well, due this very unfortunate incident. My family are very very peaceful people, but as we know in life we simple cannot control our destiny, and certainly cannot always control the act of other, We can only pray that God will protect us from all evil, there are many in this world. For thoes who do not know, we have been down this road before, our daughter/family member, one of the alleged offender’s aunt was killed in a very similar way by the hands of a jelous concubine in the village of Mahaut, who by the way served less than a year in jail for her crime, so we know what it is like to suffer such a loss. To the family of the victim we would like to say that we are deeply sorry, and pray that God will give usall the strength as we go through this difficult time.

    February 6, 2010

@Dominican…. I know the guys who committed the crime very well and it is no fault of anybody why they ended up in that situation. you see as young people we make choices and some of us think who are our parents to tell us what to do as adults. opportunities are given to everyone to better themselves and some waste it away….thats the situation. so many ppl who had nothing growing up struggled through and made something of themselves. if they can do it why cant we and all of them? our young men are just lazy and want to site and smoke….its a fact!

This is a wake up call for all our young people not only in Vieille Case but all over Dominca. Our young people need guidance in making right decisions and choices. The question is what are we going to do?. how can we help? who will lead the way? Many of our youngsters need physical, mental, spiritual and emotional guidance. how can we put an end to all of this violence? too many of our young people are going astray. This is heart breaking news and i pray that god will grant his family the strength needed to carry on. it seems like yesterday i saw coocoos little boy walking down the road going to church with his mum. This is not what i expected. But then again God is the master of the plan he knows what he is doing and i am convinced that there is a lesson for all to learn from this.

This is the result when wealth and money is circlating among few people; thus leaving very little opportunies to young people, which results in a life of despair, and reckless actions. My heart goes out to all families involved, victim as well as victor because there lives are for ever changed. In light of that, what we can do as a nation to give young people hope.

  47. The Gospel
    February 6, 2010

God’s grace is suffient to comfort the family of this young man.

One person commented that he is in a better place now… that God took him away to be with him in heaven. THAT IS THE DEVIL’S LIE. Jesus Christ died so that man could have a taste of everlasting life. Fact is that if you believe not in Jesus Christ (I,m not taking about head knowledge but faith) You ARE CONDEMNED ALREADY. John 3:18 Read your bibles carefully. So get the facts straight.

In my personal opinion, I don’t see how someone can rest in peace when they die without God. I don’t know the spiritual status of the dead guy but you know your spiritual status. You never know when your turn will come (and it will come) The bible says taht is appointed to man once to die and after that the judgement.

    Are you ready?

    @ SOUTH MASSIVE

Y don’t y’all just keep ur mouth shut if y’all cannot focus on the issue at hand? I am from Grand Bay and ppl like u embarassing ppl like me.

We should be asking ourself how we may have failed our young ppl, causing them to exhibit such behaviours. What could we have done that we did not do for these young ppl causing them to be so angry? Our young ppl need prayers, families need to pray, standards need to be set at home from the time our children are toddlers. We need to teach our children to deal with peer pressure. These incidents stem from a combination of factors.

To the victim’s family, likewise the family of the persons who may have committed the act i say God is with u during this difficult time.

I just hope that the criminals who took Juniors life will be brought to swift justice.young men in Dominica are committing vicious crimes because the legal system is too lenient with them. what is fifteen years for taking a life?maybe the legal system should begin taking a life for a life. i believe that ciminals should be punished to the full extent of the law. another thing is that when criminals are treated like princes in prison, what does the country expect ? young men are going in and out of prison because prison to them is like a palace.hard core criminals should be treated like animals because thats how they look at others when they kill them.dominicas legal system should go back to the death sentence. The only way to curb this vicious cycle of killing in Dominica is to implement the death sentence.Government should seriously look into that. This morning i was having a conversation saying that the year has started on a good note since there hasn’t been one murder. I guess i spoke to fast. It’s sad when such things happen yet still the justice system wants to be soft on crime.

It is very sad, every day you have to hear about bad vibes in our place i know things happen everywhere but my GOD why Dominica? Why can’t we just love our sisters and brothers in Christ and leave a happy and joyous life man? Why is it that we have to keep hurting each other like this? It is really ,really sad boy. Dominicans if we do not take charge of our lives now and asked ourselves a question we will never go forward in life and our brothers and sisters are just going die out of ignorance one by one just like the hands on the clock moves tick tuck tick tuck.

I was leaving work when they brought the young man in. So sad, so young. People we need to pray for our young people. Too much of anger. Too much of action without thinking of the consequences. The devil is rejoicing!
