The Police have charged Patrickson Moses, also known as ‘Gravity,’ of Kingshill for the death of Flavian Bellot of Gallion.
This is the second time in a week that he has been charged with a serious offense.
On Thursday, May 18th, 2017, Bellot, was discovered on River Bank in Roseau, in the vicinity of an area locally known as ‘Washington’ at around 4:00 am.
He was pronounced dead by a medical doctor and a coroner’s inquest was convened thereafter.
According to Police PRO, Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, investigations have been completed and Moses was charged on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 with the “alleged murder of Fabien Bellot.”
“This is the second charge of murder preferred against Patrickson Moses,” Jno Baptiste remarked.
On Monday this week, he was charged with murder for the death of Anderson ‘Andy’ Carbon.
Carbon’s body was discovered on the sea defense wall at the Bay Front in Roseau at around 4:00 am on Friday, June 23.
‘Gravity,’ a vagrant, is well known on the streets of Roseau.
Not often you had as much as 2 murders committed by the same person on Dominica. I know he is mentally ill but he is still fully aware that what he did was wrong. He should face the death penalty.

Yes ,Gravity is a drug addict and yes , by no means is he a saint . I’ve seen him and stopped him from attacking people in Roseau for no apparent reason, but that doesn’t mean he is of sound mind .If he is found not to be competent enough to stand trial or competent to go through questioning by the police officers (which from what is reported has already been done,) will there be other forms of dealing /giving the help he needs as a mentally ill and aggressive homeless individual or will he still end up sitting in jail regardless ?

I am on www. and I begin to understand the world. If you want a HEAVEN you must make it yourself. No two things are the same, they can be identical but never the same. Fingerprints. Every body fingerprints are different, and in murder there is always a murder weapon. There are two things that never change in a human being, one is the fingerprint. The other is for the Police to know and not you. Crime does not pay.
I would love to pay a lawyer for Gravity he is too a victim of the Dominican society..?

Gravity could be looked upon as a psychopath. If he committed those murders the Law, the Police and the Court should know what to do with him.

Carbon and his men might look very good in the eyes of Dominica for the arrest, but I don’t think they will look good in the eyes of the world. Gravity does not appear to be sane. I wondered whether before the arrest, he was interrogated in the presence of a physiatrist or a lawyer. Did he know he is allowed to be questioned in the presence of a lawyer. I wondered if when the charges were read to him, whether he understood the charges. Gravity has been wondering the streets of Roseau for years with no known address. Did they read to him his miranda rights and did he understand it. Where is the police going to house him. If all these questions are lacking in any way, any lawyer will have this so called paro, back on the streets.

If this occurred in Canada she would be charged and could be imprisoned. No one would feel sorry for her. When it comes to such matters, the entire country would be extremely angry and lambaste her. People just do not do this to anyone and by no means one as Andy who was poor. You can call him dirt poor since he had nothing, lived on the streets and was hungry. He depended on nationals, wherever he was to feed and clothe him.

People the matter must go through its proper conduit. Gravity must be gioven a lawyer by the State. That is not an option for Skerrit. It is a legal requirement. Further, it is left to be seen how far this matter will advance given the mental condition of the individual we are dealing with. he may be declared unfit to stand trial as is the case involving a gentleman from Bagatelle who has been on remand at the State prison for upwards of nearly three decades. He was declared unfit to stand trial and so has been kept in custody all those years. The same might happen here. But a suspected killer will be kept off the street at least for a long while yet. For those who are suspicious of the police action, I say they had absolutely no contact with Gravity. Just being negative will not assist in bringing justice to those whose lives were taken away from them.

A young man was arrested the same day or two that Fabien was killed. He said what happened and he was released when proven he had no part. What the young man did was name names, and so far that name never got arrested. Dominica we have a situation on our hands, and we mustn’t take it lightly.
