Actually I was at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday when two brothers were brought in with bullet wounds. Both were shot by the same shooter according to the girlfriend of one of the brothers.

I am trying to understand why someone would give this a thumbs down. Is it the shooter or a sympathizer of the shooter who feels what?

Hello and good morning my people. Thanks for informing me of its location. Last year when I visited I went to see the New College which is a beautiful campus with a nice view therefore Yampiece residence should also have a nice view of the Town and ocean. I just hope the victims survive and the perpetrator is apprehended and successfully prosecuted.

I want to wish my people a Happy and safe New Year from a very cold New York City.

We need an urban renewal program for Yampiece. The first start should be name change for the area. With a name like Yampiece, it’s a self fulfilling prophecy as to how some of the young men in particular will behave.

This area also needs more policing and more community engagement. The policing model in Dominica is outdated. An area like Yampiece needs police officers on the “Beat” throughout all three shifts. A mobile command center should be established in the area in conjunction with regular beat patrol.

police cannot prevent the sale of drugs in the liitle shanty opposite to the immigration office, virgin lane, boyds avenue and bath road you really expect them to go Yampiece. It have at least 4 male police officers leaving Yampiece and it makes no difference get real its needed but the police needs to clean closer to home first before they enter the surburbs.

I think we need a bigger jail and tougher sentences. The govt need to add that to their list. Along with cleaning up the police force of course. Tightening up legislation to allow people defending themselves to walk while coming down hard on troublemakers would be great. Let’s face it. We know who troublemakers are in dominica anyway. We need a good clean up, especially if an airport is on the way. Oh, and the police need training on how to gather evidence and make prosecutions stick, even on appeal. Get to it.

    • The Facts
      December 30, 2014

You are one type of person who should know, learn and practice: “Be sure that your brain is engaged before putting your mind, mouth in gear and your fingers to the keyboard and utilizing the sent button.”
These people who are involved in this shooting situation,
Do you know who they are?
Do you know if they even had an education or completed schooling?
Do you know what type of lifestyle they live?
Do you know what type of job they are capable of performing?
Do you know if they ever sought employment and if they want to work?
If they were people of consequence, interested in building up their life and enhancing their situation and their country, they would not have found themselves in a free for all which led to shootings. They have depicted that they are not people of good character who an employer could employ and trust and who could diligently work for honest pay. It appears they are not interest in working.

Certainly not nice news indeed, We can do without that kind of “development” as they say. Dominicans the elections are over. Let us go back to normal living each puling their weight to ensure that the country leap frog forward. There is a new government in office. It cannot be that the incident happened because of Pm Skerrit. What nonesense. Such a statement could be tolerated in the heat of an election campaign. But that is over – long gone.
