PHOTOS: National Cultural Gala 2013

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAll aspects of Dominica’s culture were displayed on Monday at the National Cultural Gala held at the Botanic Gardens as the island continues to celebrate its 35th anniversary of independence.

Groups and individuals from all parts of Dominica put on a spectacular display of bele, quadrille, heel and toe, singing, drumming and more.

The winners of the many Wob Dwiyet pageants held during the season, also made brief appearances.

Several individuals were recognized for their contribution to the development of Dominica’s culture which will be featured in another DNO story.

    Let me say it sad that our cultural gala ever sinced it was comercialized has been the least attended by D/cans over the past few years . Let me advise Raymond and his successor to return gala to D/cans .

      Very beautiful. But they are changing the colours of the national dress to much.To many different colours. We need to pick out one so that everyone can look uniform. One with mainly green,that represent the nature Isle.
