One week after the lawyers on both sides presented their arguments on issues dealing with the murder charges filed against five police officers in connection with the death of Joshua Etienne, that decision is expected to be delivered today.

Lawyers for the officers have petitioned the court seeking leave to file for judicial review.

Justice Errol Thomas heard the matter before a packed courtroom last week and said that given the seriousness of the matter and the public interest, he would give his decision in the shortest possible time.

Dominica News Online has been informed that the decision will be handed down at the Civil section of the High Court at 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Someone has to pay for the mans death. This is sad, where is the accountability in this matter? I feel for the family, trust God and everything will unfold. I don’t know the man and his family but I really feel their pain. Even though his committed a crime, that is why we have laws and Judges. Police should not take the law in their own hands. Pray for Justice and peace DOMINICA.

Everything in this country nowadays is a melee. Not eve the Court is immune from the mess. I believe Justice Thomas’ mind was made up since he heard the arguments last week but to be politically correct, and not annoy some big gundeez, he delayed judgment while he did a bit of consultation. I sort of see the point raised by defence counsel, in that a public inquest should be convened first since the death occurred under abnormal circumstances.

With the circumstances so similar to other matters Justice Errol Thomas has presided over I don’t expect anything unusual. Over the years he has proven to judge in favor of ‘Team Skero’, I sure don’t expect him to rule in favor of Tyani. Mark my words folks and if his verdict is different I need everybody to give me a thumbs down.

A charge must be read. Those responsible for this cruel act must be brought to trial, otherwise, the entire Nation should demand justice.
