Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) will host a team of three from Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio to Dominica from September 1 – 4, 2014. Peter Greenberg is a travel editor for CBS Morning News and NBC Today Show as well as a news journalist for several magazines including AARP Magazine.
The DDA is reporting in its weekly news update that a team of three will be on island to host a three-hour live radio show to air on over 350 stations in the United States combined. The programs are distributed by United Sates Radio Network, one of the top radio syndicators in the US. The US radio team will interview local guests who can provide real flavor and authenticity of the destination. Further to the radio show, the group will visit and capture some of Dominica’s tourism sites and attractions for a promotional video entitled “Like a Local – Travel Detective,” which will further assist with the promotion of the destination. The Authority believes this is a great opportunity for destination Dominica to be further promoted in the North American market.
Plans are also well underway for the staging of Dominica’s Nature Island Challenge 3.0 in 2015, according to the DDA report. Registration is now open for high endurance athletes who are up to the challenge. Teams of four persons representing one country must apply before October 1, 2014. Interested persons can visit www.natureisland challenge.com/registration to apply online.
Dominica’s Nature Island Challenge is a one of a kind adventure challenge designed to showcase the natural beauty of Dominica as well as the power of exploration and discovery. Teams traverse great distances on and off the first ever long distance hiking trail in the Caribbean, the Waitukubuli National Trail, interacting with islanders and experiencing local sports and culture. Dominica’s Nature Island Challenge 3.0 will take place from April 13 – 17, 2015.
Dominica also needs an international hard 18 hole challenging golf course to attract international PGA golf competition to the island. It could be called the Nature Island Golf Challenge. There is plenty of land on the east coast where a challenging course could be built it would also be good for local vendors. Just a thought a suggestion.
I hear that representatives of The Bit Drop will be on the show along with Ira Miller CEO of Coinapult and OJ Seraphin former Prime Minister of Dominica.
This is wonderful news for Dominica. I feel confident that the Government is pushing the right buttons internationally. This is bound to attract tourism which can’t be bad in terms of attracting revenue’!!! I’m feeling very proud of this achievement. God bless DOMINICA
