The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) mourns the passing of Raymond O’Keiffe, Communications Officer at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

O’Keiffe exemplified the ethics of journalism and demonstrated a passion for informing and educating the people of the OECS about issues that affected their lives. He was usually the first and often the only news reporter to call the ECCB for interviews when the Bank issued news releases.

O’Keiffe was considered part of the ECCB family as he worked closely with the Corporate Relations Department to promote the Bank’s public education and community outreach programmes.  He served as the moderator for the 2015 ECCU Business Symposium and Innovation Forum which the ECCB hosted in collaboration with the Financial Information Month partners throughout the region.  While the participants expressed their appreciation, verbally and in writing, of the professional manner in which O’Keiffe coordinated and managed the session, he counted it as an honour and opportunity to serve the people of the ECCU.

The Governor, management and staff of the ECCB express sincere condolences to O’Keiffe’s wife, children, extended family, friends and colleagues at the OECS Commission.
