A series of activities have been organised to observe Police Week 2011.
Police week commenced with a church service at the Portsmouth Methodist Church on Sunday followed by a parade through the streets of Portsmouth but according to Police Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Police Force Sergeant Kent Mathew the opening of the week will commence at 6 pm today at the police headquarters.
“The police will mount a guard of honor which will be inspected by the President of Dominica His Excellency Dr. Nicholas Liverpool. Following this, the Attorney General Levy Peter will deliver the feature address and Her Excellency Mrs. Liverpool will cut the ribbon in declaring the police exhibition opened at 7 pm. The exhibition will be opened to the public from 8:30-5 pm from Tuesday to Thursday in Roseau and moves to the Magistrate Court house on Friday” he said.
Other activities include outreach programs at schools, a panel discussion, indoor games, a talent night and football matches.
“We invite the general public to participation all our activities,” he said.
The week of activities is being observed under the theme “Learning from our past, embracing our present as we look towards our future”.
I suggest one major activity ….”agressive day ….suprise visit” make invasions on all the big drug dealers, money launderers and illigal firearm holders. Raid their homes, vehicles and let us see how much we will collect in this exercise. It is a special …..for one day only. but do nto tell the public when for them to hide
