The Dominican representatives at the convention

Dominica was proudly represented at the 31st Multiple District 60 Convention of Lions Clubs International held at the Barbados Hilton from May 18-22, 2011.

The Convention, which brought together Lions and Leos from Jamaica and Cayman islands in the North to Guyana and Suriname in South, served  as the  meeting ground for Lions and Leos to present reports about their various activities during the the Lionistic Years.

This year the Dominica Lions Club received three (3) awards – Leo Club Development, Public Relations and Marketing and an Outstanding Presidents Award for Lion Louisiana Dubique. Lion Louisiana was also appointed to the District Cabinet as Associate Chair – Region 2 for Drug Awareness for the 2011/2012 Lionistic year.

The election of officers to govern the affairs of the Clubs also took place with Lions Lloyd Barker, MJF, of Cricket Umpiring  fame being elected as District Governor 60B,  Claudius Buncamper, MJF of St. Maarten as the 1st Vice District Governor and Lion Izzette McCalla of Jamaica as the 2nd  Vice District Governor.  Lion Nicolin Moore of Trinidad will lead the Multiple District as the Council Chairperson.
