Dominica Seventh-day Adventists Secondary School hosts 28th graduation ceremony

Student of the Year Laurisa Letang

The Dominica Seventh-day Adventists Secondary School hosted its 28th graduation ceremony on Sunday 10th July, 2011 under the theme “Dare to Accomplish Great Feats.”

29 students received their High School Diplomas with pride in the presence of a large number of witnesses.

The highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address which was passionately presented by Dr. Eulalie Semper, Education Director of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.  Dr. Semper encouraged the students to remain true to the principles of Seventh-day Adventists Christian education.  Her presentation thrilled not only the students but all who were in attendance.

The school’s principal Carlotta Challenger presented a comprehensive report of the school’s achievement and projections for the future.  She also challenged the graduates to be the epitome of excellence.

Many students received awards for excellence in academia. The two most esteemed awardees of the afternoon however were the Valedictorian, Hanix Daniel and the Student of the Year, Laurisa Letang who received the trophy donated by The East Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

The ceremony, which commenced at 2:00 pm, was held at the school’s auditorium.  The class colours were Raspberry pink and apple green.  CONGRATUALTIONS CLASS OF 2011.

I attended the graduation ceremony and it was indeed splendid! I was moved by the speeches given by the feature address speaker and the principal. They encouraged the students to face the world with confidence. I congratulate all the students for their achievement. Did the negative comments come from students of the graduating class? If this was the case then I can’t believe they grasped the essence of the speech made by the feature address speaker. Oh I may be mistaken because even Jesus had his attackers. I caution you from going down that path as the end will lead to destruction.

I’m quite certain that, that there is nothing better for you to talk about. If anyone knows ur name i’m sure they wouldn’t be surprised who they hear it from ? Look at the development of yourself…I’m sure you dont hold a degree…or a PHD…its evident in your poor reasoning…jus a little trophy in a secondary school graduation you are making story on. @anonymous: that comment wasn’t called for. Everyone has their own level of intelligence. A trophy doesn’t prove your true potential of intelligence. I say congrats to all the students of sda class 2011. Life has only begun..continue keeping this forum positive. I hope is not an adult that made that comment because a child is responding to you.
