WOW
All these children and young people! They are so beautifully dressed. Think of the work done by the teachers and principles to put this together. Remember it would not have possible without the co-operation of the parents, especially the Mums!
As I recall school days have their challenges. But giving a bright event like this to the students will lift their spirits and be long remembered. They are worth the effort.
God bless each and every one of you
Sincerely, Rev., Donald Hill
Happy Independence to all the youth on the Island, I thank them for a wonderful parade .
Love the pictures…thanks for sharing! I really loved the diversity and beauty of the school uniforms. Also, I hadn’t known that there were so many schools and youth organizations/groups in Dominica. The youth represented and had fun.
soooo, portsmouth not part of dominica? or they aint get photos of st. johns school and pss as yet?
St John’s Academy is in pictures 34 – 37 and 198. I’m not sure of pss.
The schools displayed their love for country.Congratulations.Principals and teachers you prepared your charges!
I see that my people are not able to afford a good camera.
BEAUTIFUL
THANSK FOR THE PICS FOR THOSE OF US NOT THERE.. I APPRECIATE IT
Oh…Boy…I noticed lots of added features as compared with last years..Certainly could not tell what some were. Photo 49 ,,is that the school of construction workers…that’s what they look like to me..And photo 77,,the guys up front look like the bread makers with their hats….I also believe that some of the kids are way to small for that,,,they appear to be just doing their own thing…Allow them to grow up they will have their turn all goes well…When we did it the whole school was never dragged into a parade except the high schools in that case all the kids were of age.
Another thing you’ll need to keep it sweet and simple…it appears to be heading into a parade/ costume carnival .
Picture 49 is the winners of the choral speech competition performing their piece and picture 77 features the St Mary’s Academy 4H club who are the winners of our 4h local dinner plate competition and they also won bronze regionally. On another note, some younger children actually want to drill with their primary school so it’s not a matter of dragging them into it but it is better to let them enjoy their youth rally that cripple their dreams as youth. It is better that they want to engage themselves in ‘these’ kinds of thing from young. Lastly, the costume and stilt walker were part of a performance of the Convent High School sign language club in collaboration with the school’s dance group. Stilt walkers and people who wear costumes are a part of our culture. It was only showing pride and loyalty to our country. You should really educate yourself prior to making such statements.
DNO Admin, it would have been fitting to show pics of the award recipients too.
Beautiful pictures of the youths in school uniform.
Excellent organization.
The parade is something wonderful to witness.
A happy time. Proud to see you school students. Keep up the scholarly spirit. Do your utmost to graduate that some day you will obtain a well-paying job and contribute to the economy of Dominica and, of course, your well-being and future.
It looks like the sky was cloudy. Nevertheless, it appears to have been a great day with no rain.
God bless all of you students and always protect you.
God bless Dominica, government of Dominica and other nationals.
A Happy Independence Day to all!
