RCCU gives to students and community organisations

Kyra Richards receives her scholarship award from Ducreay

The Roseau Cooperative Credit Union (RCCU) has presented eight scholarships to students of members who attend secondary schools on the island.

In a presentation ceremony at the Prevost Cinemall this morning, President of the RCCU Board of Directors Dexter Ducreay said that these donations serve as a way of investing in the future human resource of the country. He mentioned that a total of $50,000 in expenses for RCCU scholarship’s program.

Kyra Richards received the Merit Scholarship while Joe-L Joseph and Kimberly Eli, both of Roseau received scholarships based on need.

Five other students- Antoine Darroux, Rene Popo, Shyan Llyod, Uriah Durand and Ryanna Charles received scholarships based on need.

The institution also gave six special assistance $500 cash donations to needy students while the Nature Island Literary Festival and Book Fair, Private Sector Foundation for Health and Roseau Public Library received the community donations.

    Good job Roseau. With the formation of the Nationl Credit Union, more money will be given for these worthwhile projects. Way to goooooo!
