Citronier-born actress completes second film in Jamaica

Germina Jno-Baptiste in Possessed, her second film for Collywood

Germina Jno-Baptiste is fast becoming hot property for the Collywood film production company based in Jamaica and Africa Uganda.

Germina, born in Citronier Dominica, has started to create headlines in Jamaica and around the Caribbean as her debut film Hated 2 Death is due to be premiered on the 2nd July 2011 in Jamaica,  just  2 weeks away, and then onto Dominica.

Miss Jno-Baptiste has also just completed another movie called “Possessed” where she stars in another leading role as a mother of a child who is Possessed by demons.

Germina already has a line of companies who want to use her to endorse their products. Due to work commitment Collywood is keeping her focused, the company wants her to concentrate on touring and promoting the movies throughout the Caribbean and Africa.

“Possessed” will be the first supernatural horror movie to come out of Jamaica. “ This movie has been a learning curb for me as an actress, just like Hated 2 Death,” Germina said.  “I had to push myself and find certain emotions for certain scenes to work. My director Junior Hart really push me to find emotions that I never thought I had.”

Collywood will be touring around the Caribbean where Hated 2 Death will be the first to go out on the Collywood cinematic tour, followed by Possessed straight after.

Hated 2 Death and Possessed will also be screened at the Arawak House of Culture in Roseau Dominica,  Germina’s home town.

Junior Hart the CEO of Collywood will be looking to push Germina throughout the Caribbean and then embark on a tour of Africa where he is confident that Africa will love her and the Collywood movies.

To answer the question of why do Dominicans excel outside of Dominica. I will answer that question this way. Some of us take our simple but sound upbringing for granted not realizing that our environment we are brought up in Dominica prepares us for the challenges out there in the world and when we are exposed to those challenges we are prepared and excel at them.
Bravo for the upbringing in Dominica.
We are not as developed as the other countries but our parents and extended families do a great Job.

why is it that no one realize that only when we leave this country we excel?? And why is it that Dominica always take credit for what this people go overseas and accomplish is they was here no one would acknowledge their talent so head of government get up and realize you people have no part to play in the empowerment of your own people, get up and start doing something. its just like a father who never fed a child but when the child start doing something good in life they are frist to say look their child , sakwaygas shame on allu

So what are you saying is that when Dominicans go abroad and they make it big our Media should not recognize them ? should we as Dominicans not congratulate them and be proud of them. If we can leave for better opportunities in more developed countries and make something of ourselves should our countrymen not be proud of us. Had she committed a crime somewhere we would have to handle the shame just the same way. Tell me “its a no no thing” I would like to find out from you, should we be proud or not be proud of this young lady ? Should we ignore everything Dominican about her or should we call her Jamaican or British
or some othercan ? Sakwaygas I say shame on you
