Kharlen Silva releases ‘Classroom Crush’ video

The video
The video is Silva’s directorial debut

ROSEAU, DOMINICA – Dominican Artiste Kharlen Silva has released a music video for his latest single, Classroom Crush.

The song features Silva singing for the first time, accompanied by singer, Ellaina Joseph, known as Lyrique.

“It was a bit of a departure for the hip-hop that I usually do, but this song was actually written since I was in forth form and I had part of it recorded, but I didn’t quite know what it was going to be or what I was going to do with it until Lyrique and I got in the studio together and it all kind of came together pretty quickly. Lyrique is a great artist and a dear friend and I’m really happy we were able to collaborate on this project,” Silva said.

The video for Classroom Crush is also Silva’s directorial debut and he says that was careful to convey imagery that suits the mood and the intimacy that the song represents. He suggested that the topic of the story is one that he hopes that old and new fans can connect with in a very special way.

Silva stated, “The theme of the song, and thus the video, is very personal to me and I think that the video carries the very relatable feeling and mood of the song that most of us can immediately identify with. So far the reviews have been overwhelmingly great and it is encouraging to see people supporting the song and the video so well.”

In less than 48 hours, the video for Classroom Crush has amassed over 2,700 views on Youtube and Silva expressed his gratitude to those who helped make this project a reality.

“I just want to thank everyone who has viewed the video and listened to the song and everyone who worked to put it all together at 365 Group Inc. and Bjorn Davis of Bobos Studios,” Silva concluded.

This deserves an A+ in my opinion. I’m in my 40’s and within 30 seconds of viewing this video, it brought me way back to a very lovely period in my life. I’ve given it such a high rating because I believe most of us, if not all, can identify with it’s theme. Thanks guys for this trip down ‘memory lane’. :-)

It took me a while to make up my mind, but I definitely like it. Those involved have skillfully handled the emotions of young love and yes, the sexuality of it. They have nicely balanced daring with restraint. It gives hope that a new generation will focus on beauty rather than lust.

What really caught my attention is that the video is not vulgar. Congratulations young people. As you progress don’t bow down to pressure to include sexually explicit material in your videos. All the best. Very nice work.

I Love it, Keep up the Good work Kharlen, don’t let any of the negative comments distract you from your goals. Its hard enough doing this kind of stuff, what makes it even harder is when you do it on your own.
Its great to see Positive Movement and Growth on this small island.
The choreography of this music video is A1 keep it up and more importantly Keep Growing in your Craft.

As ridiculousness said…. it took me back to my school days.
Men how i miss those days
I would have to hide though… parents can’t know you have no crush
Or it would be stick and weep on your back.
But BIG UP to the artist she is great. She does have a very lovely
Voice. The video is also very neat and not as vulgar as the
Latest music videos now a days.
Best of luck to you singer!!

I like the song! I like the video. I’m in my 30s but this song brings me back to my school days, it gives me a “school days are happy days” feeling.

But when I was old as the girl in the video my father would not let me hang out with a guy like that…….guess times change!
