Miss Creole Canada Pageant open call for contestants

The first ever Miss Creole Pageant in October 2009 was won by Jamie Lynell Ellis of St. Lucia

Are you the one? Is this your year to represent Canada’s French-Creole Caribbean communities?

The Miss Creole Canada Pageant is now calling for contestants for the 2nd annual Miss Creole Canada Pageant to be held Saturday October 2nd, 2010.

The theme for this year’s event is “At Dawn We Shall Rise! – A Colorful Celebration of Creole People”, focusing on highlighting the Caribbean’s rich Creole culture, while recognizing the strength of Haitian Creole communities rising up after the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010.

Supporting this year’s pageant, Yves Joseph, also known as Fanfan, of the world renowned Haitian Band, Tabou Combo, and Alain Lanoue of the award winning band Ti-Kabzy have both confirmed their Part proceeds from this year’s pageant will be donated to Pierspective Entraide Humanitaire, a fundraising organization headed by the Haitian Consulate, Toronto.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by downloading an application package from the official Miss Creole Canada website at www.misscreolecanada.com

We are excited to be working with a talented and experienced team of community members who will strive to ensure that this year’s pageant will be informative, complimentary and beautifully presented.

We look forward to seeing you there.
