If I were Miss Teen Dominica, I would also opt out of competing on the principle that I had already proved myself worthy by winning Miss Teen Dominica in the first place!

Yes it is understandable that auditions are taking place in the other Caribbean islands, but could some agreement not be come to as regards islands that already have a Teen Queen?

For those of you who don’t know the final show will be held in St. Kitts. This show is only an audition to select the Dominican representative. Similar shows are being held in every Caribbean Island who is going to participate. Yes the ideal is to send our reigning miss teen but the requirement from then St. kitts organization stated every eligible girl between 13 and 18 get a chance to audition and hence represent their island is they emerge winner. Our miss teen opted not to participate. Good luck to the young ladies.

the regional show is some serious business and at a much higher level than MISS TEEN DOMINICA.I can tell this because my cousin SHEVON PHIPPS won the show in 2011. the girls from the other countries take this very seriously and their standard is top notch. if you don,t believe me you can check out the website at miss haynes smith caribbean talented teen.com. miss teen dominica 2013 would definitly be a good choice to represent the country in my own perspective, not saying the other girls won`t do a good job , but what i have seen from her from the show, she`s definitly a talented teen. ALSO be sure to check out facebook and youtube to see how the regional show really fuctions, like their type of evening wears and question and answer segments: very intense by the way. GOOD LUCK TO THE WINNER AND MAY THE BEST TALENTED TEEN WINS. :)

13 to 18 is quite a spread. Why not 13-16?

Why name the pageant ‘Miss Dominica Caribbean Talented Teen pageant’? Wouldn’t ‘Miss Dominica Talented Teen pageant’ make more sense since all the participants come from Dominica anyway? Before I read the article, I assumed that other Caribbean islands were also participating based on the name of the pageant.

So why do the other countries have i.e Ms Antigua World? Ms Antigua Universe? This is to show that this pageant is specific to the Ms Caribbean Teen held in SKN. Ms Teen Dominica would have to audition to represent DA.

It is clear that the only thing Dominican women are capable of is being on stage in a pageant, displaying their “talents”. Clearly a waste of this youthful energy.

What is wrong with the reigning Miss Teen 2013.

    August 15, 2013

So sorry that this is the year that DA is deciding to participate as another Dominican whom I expect to walk away with the crown will be representing St Kitts on that night. Pernelle Abraham who is beautiful, talented, bright, dear to my heart and simply a model teenager is my pick on that night. Nonetheless, I wish the Dominican representative the best of luck.

    • so true
      August 16, 2013

I have seen Pernelle in action. Dominica’s rep has her work cut out. However what difference would it make when records show that ST Kitts has been totally dominating. Let’s just say Dominica will be one and two this year providing that the best Teen is selected to represent.

Why another show when Miss Teen Dominica could represent???????

I think it is a waste of resources

    • August 15, 2013

its a complete different organisation doing this show from the normal miss teen dominica

    • eh beh look it
      August 16, 2013

The organizers probably felt that it would have been a waste of resources either way, so they prefer to gamble with a new rep?
